In small increments each night as we chill at the Groen’s or Harrison’s and enjoy being away from the mess. And in just 11 days that other kind of rest that comes from seeing the smiling faces in the airport. The hugs. The people who are so happy to see you (and of course your children! That they can hardly contain it.

31 October, 2012. 31 days: the end. Well, it looks like I managed to share something 21 days of the month. Not too bad considering the power and internet issues we've been having. I never really expected to get all 31! I hope you've enjoyed the glimpse into my kitchen. I haven't been doing much in there this week. Last night we ate at the Groen's, tonight we had a Halloween party at the Harrison's, and tomorrow we eat at the Harrison's again! It's been a nice break. 30 October, 2012. 1 bunch bananas- $1.

24 June, 2012. We had an amazing time with Carson's parents. His mom arrived just 2 days after Silas was born and his dad a couple weeks later. Here are a few pictures from their time here. It is always special to spend time with family, but it was particularly nice to have extra help in the first weeks with a new baby. Jude got lots of attention and Silas got lots of cuddles. They left Mwanza on Wednesday, but have only just made it back to Tennessee due to delays in Dar. 16 June, 2012. 09 June, 2012.

Jenny and I were blown away when we figured out the entire Forrest family had secretly agreed to wear shirts they had purchased through our GO SEEK LOVE fundraising site. When the first family arrived I thought, 'oh what a nice gesture! Monday, April 18, 2011. This morning as I pulled out of our apartment complex, my phone rang and I instantly recognized the area code. It was the long awaited call from our agency letting us know we finally have a COURT DATE! Jenny and I will appear before a judge in Addis Ababa, the capitol city of Ethiopia, on Monday, May 30th nearly two years after our decision to adopt. I keep thinking there will be a point when Carson quits changing so much, but I haven't hit that point yet. Here are some of our favorite things he is doing:. Running to his room, coming back to tell us "i'll be right back" then going back to his room. Singing songs with us at night. his favorite seems to be twinkle, twinkle. Wonder where he got that from :) ).

The amazing adventures of carson and kellen. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. We have a surgery date. Carson's surgery is scheduled for Friday, September 18th. He will have a swallow study done the day before and then a 7-10 day hospital stay after the surgery. The reconstructive surgery itself will be 7-8 hours long! I am already praying for all the details of the trip, there are too many to even name and I'm sure alot I don't even know! Thank you all for your prayers! But nothing was said about ice cream ; ).
