Summer is here | Cartwheeling Down the Aisle

Cartwheeling Down the Aisle. This is the stuff life is made of. Asymp; Leave a comment. And just like that, one night we were heating the home and the next day we turned on the AC. It’s summer in Wyoming! Have you heard the joke? 8220;Summer in Wyoming — best two weeks of the year! She’s really into my water bottle, which cracks me up. So I gave her her own (sippy cup) and she actually does really well with it! Oh yes, did I mention she’s crawling? She LOVES water. Any water. It’s all good. My work-life ...

Cartwheeling Down the Aisle. This is the stuff life is made of. Asymp; Leave a comment. Now that Adelina is in that phase of meticulously combing through every nook and cranny (and often putting everything to the taste test), we are discovering a lot of little things we had forgotten about. This morning as she (once again) emptied out the cubbies of our media center, I found my Mormon Women Project Salon. Notes and bookmark (that post has a lot of awesome nuggets, it’s worth (re-)reading! So as much as i...

Cartwheeling Down the Aisle. This is the stuff life is made of. Mormon Women Project Salon Recap. Asymp; 2 Comments. I was a bit apprehensive at first, because I’ve never actually met Neylan or any of the MWP contributors. The theme of the salon was Deliberate Womanhood, the idea of crafting our lives rather than just letting them happen to us, and it was such a good topic for me to hear about right now. The first speaker was Emma Lou Thayne. 8220;Where can I turn for peace? Aside from being really funny...

Cartwheeling Down the Aisle. This is the stuff life is made of. Asymp; Leave a comment. I find it so difficult to get a few minutes to sit down and blog these days. My dearest Adelina still isn’t particularly interested in long naps so that typically leaves precious few minutes to focus on any one thing! And my real problem is I’m an obsessive re-reader, so it takes me forever to hit. She is enjoying sensory board books, all sorts of songs (french-speaking mamas: I’ve been using these. To teach myself th...

See Sophia Smile, Tate-r-tot, and Roll'in Nolan. Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Sophia came up to me on Saturday and said she wanted to bare her testimony at church. (Her and Tate got up last testimony meeting) She then reads this to me. She wrote this all on her own. I was impressed so I arranged for her to give the talk in Primary the next day. This is the first talk she wrote and said all by herself. Sophia wrote this all on her own. Translation: "I am glad that my Heavenly Father. First day of first grade.

Haleigh, Gavin, and Henry: August 2009
http://haleighmarie.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Haleigh, Gavin, and Henry. Wednesday, August 5, 2009. I am back home in Utah! Actually, I left Lille a little earlier than planned in order to surprise Gavin and boy oh boy, was he shocked! My sister Hillary called him around midnight saying she was scared and home alone so he ran over and when he rushed in the house, I grabbed him from behind! He was speechless for a good minute and then it took an hour or so to sink in. He couldn’t believe his eyes! It is so nice to be. Back with my family!

Haleigh, Gavin, and Henry. Thursday, September 11, 2014. The Ups and the Downs. Well, Henry’s starting to stir, so I don’t have much time, but I wanted to at least post a little. Yesterday for the play group we went to the indoor playground, which is at the First Christian Church in Champaign. I had heard many moms talk about it, but didn’t realize how neat it actually is! Some things are improving as we adjust. Today, for example, Henry played with the kids in the institute nursery the whole time! And t...

Nate and Kelly (but mostly Clara). Friday, October 26, 2012. These things go straight to my thighs. Clara is getting pretty skilled in the art of feeding herself. Unfortunately, this can lead to a bit of overconfidence, such as today, when she tried to eat an entire rice cake in one go. She soon learn how difficult it is to eat something bigger than your whole mouth in one bite. Later she may learn that in our family these starchy snacks go straight to the thighs. Tuesday, October 23, 2012. December 10, ...

Haleigh, Gavin, and Henry. Sunday, February 28, 2010. I’m slowly but surely catching up on updating my blog and now have come to my bridal pictures. Naturally I wanted Gavin to be there for them; he’s th. E handsome man in the tux. The pictures are pretty much self-explanatory so I won’t add much commentary. Blake and Catherine Shumway from Imagery Experts were our photographers. And they did an excellent job at making us look as happy as we really were. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Haleigh, Gavin, and Henry. Friday, April 2, 2010. I had asked our videographer if she could convert our video into a file that would play on the computer and she finally did it. cartwheeling through europe | …and finding adventures along the way
8230;and finding adventures along the way. It’s Who You Are Not What You Do. If I learned one thing from our trip to Europe, it’s that many Europeans don’t live to work, but instead work to live. So I guess this was just a long-winded, sappy way of reminding you that your job is not everything. Of course, this is coming from someone who’s unemployed. But really, exert more effort in being successful in your personal life instead of your professional life and you’re bound to be a happier person. The view ...

We lost each other, over and over again, in a way where I wonder if we ever really found each other to begin with. Instead, I came home to the heart pounding in my own chest, lungs ever equally empty and full of my own breath, astounded by freedom and light and the things that move us.
