My British Isles
http://mybritishisles.blogspot.com/2015/03/here-comes-summer-well-at-least-spring.html
Pictures from the places I love most. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Tuesday, 10 March 2015. Well, at least Spring. Today it was sunny, if still a little chilly, so I decided it was time to kick off my 2015 touring and photographing local places of interest tour. Today it was mostly just riding round to decide what I wanted to include, although I did stop briefly in West Malling to photograph the Cascade at St. Mary's Abbey. Pictures from the places I love most. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Like Wales, it was easier to create a page for the whole of Scotland, rather than split it into individual counties. This time, however, it's mostly because we seldom get the opportunity to venture North of the Border. The 1 o'clock gun being fired. The Heart of Midlothian. Salisbury Crag and Arthur's Seat. The rebuilding of it was completed in 1932. I'm not going to go into great detail about it...

So, after another absolutely brilliant trip, I've updated the page for Wales. I just can't get enough of those stunning mountains, and peaceful valleys. You never know though, it might just give me the incentive to spend more time exploring what England has to offer a bit closer to home. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Castle Inn, Knucklas.

My British Isles: Sussex on a sunny September day

Pictures from the places I love most. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Thursday, 4 September 2014. Sussex on a sunny September day. Because we're barely 20 miles from the border of Kent with East Sussex, I spend almost as much time riding there as I do in my home county. Today's little jaunt took me right down through 1066 Country, to some of the most historically important places in the county. Battle of Hastings and dedicated to. Pope Alexander II ordered the.

My British Isles: NORFOLK

Pictures from the places I love most. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Despite being flat, and largely agricultural, Norfolk has much to recommend it. Let's not get on to the subject of the Shapla Indian Restaurant in Attleborough though! Of course, this huge system of inland waterways, rivers and lakes (Broads) is what Norfolk is most famed for. And rightly so. This is Oulton Broad, one of the largest. Capital of the Norfolk Broads'. The Angel Inn is a 17th century...

My British Isles: Hastings - old world seaside town.
http://mybritishisles.blogspot.com/2014/08/hastings-old-world-seaside-town.html
Pictures from the places I love most. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Wednesday, 27 August 2014. Hastings - old world seaside town. Along with Scarborough in Yorkshire, Hastings ranks as one of my favourite seaside towns. Ignoring the obvious attraction of the May Day biker event, it's a slightly shabby, yet very friendly place. The Old Town is full of quaint buildings, and the seafront has attractions for all the family. If the weather is fine, you can expect to s...

My British Isles: YORKSHIRE
http://mybritishisles.blogspot.com/p/yorkshire.html
Pictures from the places I love most. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Dorset. Yorkshire is full of anomalies. It contains huge cities and towns, tiny little hamlets of less than 100 people, and vast open spaces. From the gently rolling Yorkshire Dales to the bleak cragginess of the North Yorkshire Moors, it seems that there's a surprise around every corner. Deep in the Dales, is the town of Hawes. Old, but once upon a time posh, buildings, and this little watefall righ...
