St Margaret's at Cliffe Photo Diary: Monster Gull Ate My Dinner!
http://stmargaretsphotodiary.blogspot.com/2015/08/monster-gull-ate-my-dinner.html
St Margaret's at Cliffe Photo Diary. This is a small village near Dover in Kent. My intention is to show some of the Village, its history and the wildlife I find there. Saturday, 1 August 2015. Monster Gull Ate My Dinner! Well actually it's the left overs, and for some reason the Badgers didn't turn up to eat them last night. When I put them out this morning this rather lame Herring Gull turned up. There were some prettier visitors to the garden today. The Budleia is out and the Butterflies are around.

St Margaret's at Cliffe Photo Diary: Walk like an Egyptian.

St Margaret's at Cliffe Photo Diary. This is a small village near Dover in Kent. My intention is to show some of the Village, its history and the wildlife I find there. Wednesday, 29 April 2015. Walk like an Egyptian. I'm not a great fan of moat introductions, in general they look much better in their native habitat, and I guess that Egyptian Goose is no exception. I always find them to be quite ugly and a brown sort of version of a muscovy. 30 April 2015 at 19:08:00 BST. 1 May 2015 at 09:20:00 BST.

St Margaret's at Cliffe Photo Diary: Welcome migrants or are they?

St Margaret's at Cliffe Photo Diary. This is a small village near Dover in Kent. My intention is to show some of the Village, its history and the wildlife I find there. Wednesday, 22 July 2015. Welcome migrants or are they? The main breeding areas of this striking diving duck are the steppes east of the Caspian Sea as far as the mountains of Central Asia. Large moulting flocks occur on Lake Constance (up to 9000) and in Spain, and previously in the Netherlands, now disappeared following water polution.

I was watching a Little Egret on the Restharrow Scrape when it snapped up a passing dragonfly. It was quite distant, and half into the light, so identification of the dragonfly is not easy.
