Part of the reason is that I gave up sugar for Lent so I ignored her baking! I don't think I could have given up sugar if it wasn't Lent. Thursday, May 24, 2007. Templates, High-heels, and What Really Matters. I traded in vanity for practicality. The other template which caused me to lose all my "widgets" was like a beautiful pair of high heels, it looked great but was way too much trouble. Today was one of those days. After a recent episode on mini blueberry galettes, the Baking Girl and I decided we would love an apple version. Fancy as the name sounds, a galette is really just an apple pie with no top crust. I think I posted a regular sized galette before but I can't seem to find it. Anyhow this is just a miniature version, perfect for little hands and mouths. Hard working little hands.

In Amanda, Ohioa family favorite, ever since we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Raymond Albert (may God rest his precious soul! I am in no way opposed to a lovely artificial treelast year, were it not for the hasty purchase of such a tree, we wouldn’t have had a Christmas tree at all. Nothe reason I prefer a real tree has more to do with the how than the why.
