Caywood Days: July 2010
http://caywood.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
A chronicle of life beyond LA. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Caywood- We are filled with excitement and joy because our friend, Allegra, is visiting! Background: Allegra and Anisa met during their salad days in college, when their dorm rooms were within shouting distance across the hallway. These were the days when dorm phone calls were made in phone booths (where irritating people with no respect for the environment would leave on the phone booth's light after leaving the booth. Why? Can you tell me that?

Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper: October 2014
http://amyjaylucy.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper. Wednesday, October 15, 2014. I apologize for taking so long to post pictures from our grand autumnal Adirondack visit, but I am having technical difficulties with both my camera and my computer. While I sort that out, here are a few pictures as an appetizer. We were there for eight warm and sunny days and took a memorable hike each day. Well, there was one exception, a very rainy Saturday when we went to the Adirondack Museum, where Lucy petted a pair of draft horses.
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper: Horse camp
http://amyjaylucy.blogspot.com/2015/07/horse-camp.html
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper. Monday, July 06, 2015. It isn't summer until Lucy trades her family in for a horse and two best friends. Just like last year. Lucy traveled two hours away to her friend Abby's house for an immersive week of horse camp. She made matching t-shirts for all three of the Pony Pals- Abby in the middle and Sadie on the right- and Abby's grandmother made them matching pillow cases. Here they are at the end of a tiring week of camp. Do Lucy's eyes look a little red? Elsie and Joe Deluxe.
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper: Summer goings-on
http://amyjaylucy.blogspot.com/2015/08/summer-goings-on.html
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper. Monday, August 03, 2015. After a wet and autumnal beginning, we are finally in the very heart of summer. I just downloaded all the photos from my camera, so here's a lightning tour of what we've been doing. At the start of the season, we just quietly hung out in the backyard. But then we noticed something amazing. Our pond has retained its water! Canoeing parties with friends. It has been so much fun. There were sparklers on Independence Day. That last picture is just precious!
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper: June 2015
http://amyjaylucy.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper. Monday, June 22, 2015. Hello, sportsfans, and welcome back. Thank you for your patience during this month's unintentional silence. I am experiencing technical difficulties related to data storage, but we're working on it, and I hope to come roaring back better than ever in the next few days. And Josie-loving. Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper: What they did
http://amyjaylucy.blogspot.com/2015/07/what-they-did.html
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Yes, you read that right. The kids were away from home for an entire week. They stayed with our very good friends Dina and Shane and their kids Roman and Salma in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Well, Shane took off for Europe mere hours after we dropped off the kids (coincidence? So it was Dina who gave the kids a week they will remember forever. And then Legoland. Yes, Legoland! Then a history museum for a samurai exhibit. And then samurai swordplay at home.
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper: December 2014
http://amyjaylucy.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper. Saturday, December 27, 2014. This year, we did all our Christmas traditions but with a difference- Nana and Grandpa are here! Grandpa took over the traditional Christmas Eve reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas. The kids were traditionally dorky in front of the tree the next morning. Jasper got to be Santa and hand out the gifts for the first time. Doesn't Dad look like he's itching to take the package out of Nana's hands and tear it open? Sunday, December 21, 2014.
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper: November 2014
http://amyjaylucy.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper. Saturday, November 29, 2014. With four or five inches of snow on the ground, we bundled up and headed out into the woods to earn our turkey dinner. We all had fun, but Shady was the very happiest. It was a nice crisp day and we didn't mind the cold- until the wind blew and sifted the tree's snow down into our necks. But that led to a game. Jay picked up a rather big stick. And thwacked it at the snow-laden trees. The kids came running for the temporary blizzard. No, not that k...
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper: April 2015
http://amyjaylucy.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Amy, Jay, Lucy, and Jasper. Thursday, April 16, 2015. And so it begins. Only ten years old and here she is, taking a pair of scissors to Tinkerbell's wings. Well you know what I say? If Lucy is going to turn punk, then so am I. Okay, you got me. It was all just dress-up. But dress-up on behalf of societal good. Once again, it was the Skunk Cabbage half-marathon, and once again, we were out to win the contest for the most enthusiastic water table. Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Three Sisters and a Tramp. We've ...

Caywood Days
A chronicle of life beyond LA. Tuesday, February 19, 2013. To "force" a bulb seems very mean indeed. However, having blooming flowers in the house during the winter is nice. As you can see, they invite a ray of sunshine. Henceforth, we shall refer to this practice as "inviting" bulbs indoors in the winter. Please make a note of it. Your Peace-Loving, Flower-Friending, Winter-Weary Bloggers. Monday, February 18, 2013. Has it been a while? Yes, it has. Will we blog again? Yes, we will. Aye, Aye Skipper.
