KRTECZECH: Autumn diary...
http://ccder.blogspot.com/2014/10/autumn-diary.html
While there were plenty of clear nights during last year, it seems that there are none of them now. We did some observation during summer (our list will update soon) - but only a few nights in month. Clouds everywhere. And we are not ready for heavy snow right now which can appear any day. When you are 200km away and there is no hand to plug in/out USB cable. That idea is so bright that it deserves bold sentence:. There is next Krteczech Servicing Mission (. After aprox. 2 moths from last one). This all ...

KRTECZECH: Observatory construction
http://ccder.blogspot.com/p/observatory-construction.html
Here are some images obtained during construction. You can watch some timelapse videos if you scroll down the page. There were many people who helped, thanks to all of you! Next day we'll start. First fight the nature to reveal what belong to us. Hard work. On Sunday. Day one. Let's prepare some stuff. Clean, clean, clean. Concrete is old but stable. Just clean it a bit. And put some stuff on it. Seems to be solid and steady. And heavy. Day after day. This is day four. Or five? Day seven. We're done.

The North Dome
http://www.beverlyhillsastronomer.org/dome-1-north-dome
The Beverly Hills Astronomer. Astronomy from Beverly Hills, MD 21214! Dome #1 nearing completion in July of 2006. The first dome, the northern of the pair, which I refer to as the North Dome, was built in the summer of 2006. I designed and built the building myself, though the shape of the “dome” is most definitely inspired by the WIYN Observatory. Dome sections just before assembly. Detail of the wheels, track, and retaining wheels. The 14-inch telescope in the North Dome. Leave a Comment Cancel reply.

DPP Observatory - Variable Stars
http://www.dppobservatory.net/VariableStars/VariableStars.php
Variable star observing is different from Deep Sky observing. Dave Sworin has written in 1997 a very interesting text about this subject. The article is no more available on Internet, but Sworin pointed out :. First observation of Deep sky object is great thrill. Deep sky observing is an experience in space dimension. Variable stars are less impressive, but more interesting the more you observe them. The dimension of variable star observing is time. Variable star observation heals aperture fever. Meeting...
