My brother, Leroy Bernard, had worked out in Gypsum, Colorado last summer, and all his journal entries and stories inspired me to do the same. This journey is meant for me to explore myself through self reflection. Leroy and I plan on hiking hundreds of miles this summer, so I will have plenty of time for this reflection.

Arrived at the Route 325 trail head by 7:45am, made some last minute adjustments, and rolled out by 8am. We planned for an easy 11.3 mile day to Rausch Gap Shelter.
