The THEMIS FGM benefits from long-term experience in the design of ring cores and sensors. Tests and calibration have been performed in high-precision facilities developed for a number of previous missions. The FGM uses an updated technology developed in Germany that directly digitized the sensors' signals and replaces the analog hardware by software. Use of the digital fluxgate technology results in lower mass and improved robustness. Technical University of Braunschweig, (TU-BS), Germany.

What do we really understand from Earth, heliophysics, and planetary science perspectives about the dramatic changes occurring in the Earth-Sun-Heliosphere system as driven by the changing polar and connected heliophysical space environments? And, quo vadis. How are we to proceed towards what we might later call the ...

The THEMIS Electric Field Instrument (EFI) measures the electric fields in three directions. One pair of sensors is deployed to 20 meters, the other pair to 25 meters. Two stiff telescopic booms extend sensors perpendicular to the four spinning cables and along the probe's spin axis. Sensors - Space Sciences Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley. Data Processing - Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP), University of Colorado, Boulder. Would you like to see:. Table of EFI Parameters.
