Textile Art and Embroidery. High Summer on the Common. July 23, 2014. Took a walk n the Common today without my faithful friend. Since he has become epileptic I find that he needs my full attention, so I reserve my walks with him merely for observation and a little light gathering. It is a very hot sultry day and I could hear the hum of the insects. They are now all sitting in jars of water. I am going to see what happens to the water before filling them with fabric. I suspect I need more of all. This on...

Textile Art and Embroidery. Festival Of Quilts 2015. August 11, 2015. Am now home from The Festival of Quilts. Alison and I had a lovely and very fruitful time. We met loads of lovely people and had a lot of laughs. Our stand – terrible light so not good pics. We have decided we can no longer fit a quart into a pint pot so have booked a bigger stand for next year. We also had work in the Quilters in Action exhibition. As did fellow room 6ers Sue Chapman and Lynne Onions. A brief rundown of the highlights.

Textile Art and Embroidery. Normal Service has been Resumed. April 14, 2015. Common. Textile art. I have taken a bit of a break part of which has been spent in Cambodia. I thoroughly recommend it as a destination, the people are lovely and very laid back in spite of a very tragic history. Inevitably went to Angkor Wat and took some probably very cliched pics. We also went to Pnomh Penh, Kampot and an island, Koh Rong Samoleon which was relaxing and totally off grid. This is how far I have got. Textiles&#...

Textile Art and Embroidery. A Common Thread at Rums Eg. January 21, 2015. Last night saw the opening of a new exhibition of which ‘A Common Thread’ is a part. It comprises some of the work which was displayed at the Knitting and Stitching Shows plus a load of extras that did not make the final cut. I loved the window display and my pieces blend really well with Frances Marrs beautiful ceramics. January 7, 2015. Leaves. textile art. Textile Art and Embroidery. October 31, 2014. I am really enjoying the Knitting and Stitching Show in Dublin. It is lovely to be able to have another look at work I enjoyed in London such as the moving exhibition by the late Renate Keeping. I have also had the novel experience of being an Artist in Action for Art Van Go. It was a great opportunity to explain some of my processes with lots of visual props. More of this today. October 17, 2014. I like the precision this one gives me. October 10, 2014.

Textile Art and Embroidery. Always more to Learn. June 6, 2015. I am not an habitual giver of workshops – it is not really my style and I feel that I still have so much to learn. However when the opportunity arose to do a workshop at ArtVanGo, I decided to cave in. In the end I had a blast. The students were lovely and wanted to work really hard and the results were stunning! Here are some of the highlights – there were many many more but not captured on camera. Like me on Facebook. Like me on Facebook.
