rita's g-string: April 2010

http://celticharpanddrum.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Yarnyarn.and a little other stuff! Thursday, April 29, 2010. The lines in each portion show the direction of knitting- i have the center done- the part with the swallowtail bottom- and i love it. unfortunately when i stretch out the center, the part i have done on the side is not nearly as wide as it should be. i guess i need to add stitches after the initial pick-up. oops. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Lifelines can be a real lifesaver if you're knitting lace. every so often, when you know that your la...

The entire piece is knitted in garter stitch, so every row is always knitted. The first stitch after a turn is always slipped. Use a wrap and turn method you like. This piece is intended to display awesome buttons and handspun yarn, so pick accordingly. Cast on 70 stitches. Row 2: knit 30, wrap and turn. Row 4: knit 20, wrap and turn. rita's g-string: some comments of mine on Rutt

http://celticharpanddrum.blogspot.com/2011/03/some-comments-of-mine-on-rutt.html

Yarnyarn.and a little other stuff! Thursday, March 03, 2011. Some comments of mine on Rutt. He reached some good conclusions, he reached some questionable conclusions, and unfortunately for us, there is no way to tell from his book, which are which. His book is helpful in that it brings up the questions about naalbinding, that hadn't been asked by the general knitter before. I don't like or dislike the book- i find it irritating that Rutt didn't bother to make this book valuable. Is Rutt at fault? So, my...

Yarnyarn.and a little other stuff! Monday, June 14, 2010. Of birds and bees and sealing wax and cabbages and kings. So, we had a lovely little robin build a nest on our back porch when we were gone for the weekend. so for the last month or so we've been watching the babies as they come along. Here's the eggs in the nest. it took several weeks before they hatched. Here's the proud and protective momma sitting on her nest. we tried to stay away, but couldn't resist a few pictures. In Denial of the Existence of Tables: Washing wool

http://imaginationfigments.blogspot.com/2012/06/washing-wool.html

In Denial of the Existence of Tables. Friday, June 22, 2012. Travis' cousin Toby gave me a bunch of wool from his wife, Sheila's, sheep. It's from the tails and bellies, so it is short, so if I can't spin with it, I will have to learn how to felt properly. Planning to wash it tonight using directions on this site:. Http:/ www.spinderellas.com/washing.html. It seems to have good information, similar to that which I've heard from people who know what they are doing, so hopefully it turns out well!

someday teacher: land of the flies

http://somedayteacher.blogspot.com/2011/09/land-of-flies.html

On the road of life. Land of the flies. My office has been taken over by the flies. They need to leave now. someday teacher: October 2011

http://somedayteacher.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

On the road of life. So, the other day, I was browsing Pinterest. And came across a photo of an egg that had been fried in a slice of sweet pepper. I thought it. Looked pretty good, so I tried it. Maybe I should have bothered to read the directions, but I think they turned out ok. And splashed a little bit of water in the pan to help the top of the eggs steam. Covered and cooked for a few minutes, then enjoyed! The only thing that would have made the meal better? From the brain of. Stuff to look at.

someday teacher: September 2010

http://somedayteacher.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

On the road of life. Of stuff and things. September is upon us (and nearly gone). Holy Crap! I don't think I like this fact. But, there is nothing I can do to slow time, so I guess I'll just have to deal. I had a GREAT summer at the ranch - awesome staff, awesome campers, awesome horses. :) It's summers like this that make me want to work here forever! First, we had a German counselor this summer, and she LOVES potatoes. She made us some Bratkartoffeln. One day, and they were soooooo good! I decided that...

someday teacher: April 2010

http://somedayteacher.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

On the road of life. We had a crew of about 70 1st-5th grade students here on Saturday. Talk about busy! They got here around 11 and left at 4. We had a meal, played games, did a Bible study, sang songs, and had a craft project. I was in charge of the craft - we made ShrinkyDink bookmarks. I learned many things:. Young children CAN use permanent markers without making a HUGE mess (I only had to clean a few spots off the tables). ShrinkyDinks curl alarmingly, but will mostly flatten out again. On Facebook...
