My name is Joan Latta and I am 23 years old. I have Cerebral Palsy as a result of birth complications and being starved of oxygen for 28 minutes; I wasn't expected to live beyond my first 24 hours. Doctors then believed I would be very limited in movement and abilities. I have been through several hard times and I have suffered from a phase of depression after I lost my job and thought that I was useless and no good to anyone. I cried every day and night in bed.
