DIRECTIONS TO CONCERT VENUE. ST MARY'S CHURCH (DT2 7JQ). Click here for directions on Google Maps. Parking is limited in Cerne Abbas. When visiting the festival, please use the village car park if possible, as unimpeded access to the village centre is required for emergency services, disabled visitors, bus services and local residents. If you need to bring your car into the village, please park considerately and avoid obstructing garages, dropped kerbs and driveways. Please allow extra travel time.

History of the Festival. In 1990, Richard Hosford, leader of the Gaudier Ensemble, and resident of Dorset had a vision of a Music Festival different from the standard commercial model. Twenty-six years on :. A group of Cerne Abbas residents still organises the Festival on the Gaudier’s and village’s behalf, totally on a volunteer basis. Musicians live in the village at the homes of local residents during the Festival. Rehearsals are informal and are open to the public. Site Design by The Giant Press.

Now established as a major musical event in the South West, the Festival hosts The Gaudier Ensemble for four days of chamber music in the wonderful acoustic and intimate surroundings of St. Mary’s Church in the historic village of Cerne Abbas.
