Up early for a 9 start, 2 car jaunt up Mount Aigoual for a downhill walk between villages. About halfway up Jenny had great fears that she had left a saucepan on the heat, so a change of plan. Passing this place on the way and getting slightly lost a couple of times. Usual experience with unsatisfactory coffee (big, milky), then we bought, wrote, sent, postcards, Margie had a wander, and we went for a beer. Found the return footpath. Mostly very enjoyable (and flat) apart from the 2 mile stretch on the bank of the River Tone, which was overgrown with rape and rather a struggle. Margaret and Ralph love to go walking. Sunday, 2 December 2012. 2nd December 2012 - Cleeve Hill. These were views over the Severn Valley to the Malvern Hills. We also got great views of Cheltenham, both city and racecourse, during the first half of the walk. The second half was rather dull. Margaret and Ralph love to go walking. Monday, 4 June 2012. Monday 4th June - Avebury: A Stone-Age Perambulation. Another great Mullett walk, 11 miles with Ellie. This was a very open walk, with many distant, if not spectacular views, and the interest of Avebury's prehistoric stones and tumuli throughout much of the time. Silbury Hill was the start point of the walk. You are not allowed to climb it now for 'Environmental Protection'. but many people do. Why has this wall got a roof? Holiday in Cevennes 09.

A 'strenuous but extremely rewarding' walk in the Welsh Hills, 11 miles on a beautiful September day. The weather was changeable, and often breezy, but much of the six hours this walk took us was under a bright blue sky, and we were often warmed by the sun.
