Monday, November 24, 2008. At least this week they are.) Here, she shows off her "Cupcake Belly":. We have all been incredibly sick for the majority of this month. It started with Maddie, she let herself get run down by not getting enough sleep, and the rest of us followed in short order. I thought I had dodged the 'crud' but this was not the case. Even James, who normally stays healthy, was down for a few days. It's been just terrible. Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Monday, November 3, 2008. I also learned ...

Buddalicious: June 2009
http://buddalicious.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 14, 2009. Our Final Day in Africa. It has taken me three weeks to document our incredible journey to Africa. Our final 24 hours in Africa, for me, were the most inspiring. I spent nearly 18 months preparing, planning, saving for, and anticipating our trip to Africa. Like most of our fellow travelers, James and I enjoy ‘going local’. We tend to wander off the beaten track –travelling by bus or rail to areas that aren’t considered ‘tourist’ attractions. Profits from the lodge support a medical...

Sunday, May 31, 2009. Savuti - A Story Unfolds. Being on Safari is like reading a suspenseful, page-turner novel. Our guides/drivers are the narrators; the animals are the main characters; and the environment containing us all offers the clues that make each turn in the road exciting. Thursday, May 21st was an exciting day in the bush. It started with one small clue:. We stalked the lions for about 45 minutes, never facing them - always parallel so as not to influence or inhibit their movements. Once...

Tuesday, September 30, 2008. This week, Josie's preschool class is learning about the color red, the letter A and designing a 'family tree'. Here's a few shots of my stylin' princess before she left for school this morning:. And here's another snazzy outfit she wore last week:. Many thanks to my dear friend, Sue. Under the Same Moon.

Buddalicious: October 2008
http://buddalicious.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Turns out that children who were adopted from China as far back as 2005 were exposed to the melamine tainted powdered milk. Given that Josie was born in 05 and lived in China until March of 2006, we are having her tested. Josie is an exceptionally healthy child, so we're not in panic mode. We're working with our pediatrician and following the advice and treatment plans offered by the American Pediatric Association for Adoptive Families. Saturday, October 25, 2008. Once in the...

Thursday, August 28, 2008. And So It Begins. This morning James and I attended the Open House for Josie's new pre-school. It went really well. Josie seemed to be very comfortable and started engaging with the other kids right away. My baby princess is on her way! Here's a few photos I was able to get while all the parents stood around getting acquainted:. Josie - Just like her Dad. (She found the toy cars right away! Playdoh seemed to be the most popular attraction at the Open House. Better woman than I!
