Adam's Advert Monitor: September 2007
http://advertmonitor.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
A frank and predominantly sideways look at the many adverts that bombard us in a very media friendly world. Sunday, 30 September 2007. Adverts have been around since the dawn of time. For instance - Cave paintings from Lascaux in France show that ever since the wheel was invented, man has been plagued by adverts for car(t) insurance. Now putting aside the annoying theme music, what is it about these adverts that annoys me? Is it the bordering on racist stereotyping of Australians? Well having got that ou...

Adam's Advert Monitor: BBC Adverts
http://advertmonitor.blogspot.com/2007/10/bbc-adverts.html
A frank and predominantly sideways look at the many adverts that bombard us in a very media friendly world. Tuesday, 16 October 2007. Now obviously the BBC technically doesn't show adverts, just as it should be. My idea as to who it should be is shared by several others within the advert itself which allows the BBC plenty of time to get it wrong. At one point they show a picture of the McLaren car which Hamilton drives, and obviously the implication is that its Lewis himself. Memo for the Morons at E-On.

Adam's Advert Monitor: Christmas in November
http://advertmonitor.blogspot.com/2007/11/christmas-in-november.html
A frank and predominantly sideways look at the many adverts that bombard us in a very media friendly world. Sunday, 18 November 2007. Its a very obvious and long-standing criticism of the advertising industry that adverts for Christmas related products get earlier each year. The first advert this year with any mention of the dreaded C-word (NO, not that one! Was in early November and since then many companies have begun their drive for extra holiday season sales. Adam's Advert Monitor: Pendolino-no,no,no!
http://advertmonitor.blogspot.com/2007/10/pendolino-nonono.html
A frank and predominantly sideways look at the many adverts that bombard us in a very media friendly world. Wednesday, 3 October 2007. The Pendolino trains operated by Virgin actually return electricity to the national grid when they brake, a technology that Formula One cars are looking at emulating (tho obviously not returning power to the national grid). Anyway Virgin are pushing this quite substantially in their adverts. The ever reliable, but polluting diesels. Now given that these Voyagers are due t...

Adam's Advert Monitor: October 2007

A frank and predominantly sideways look at the many adverts that bombard us in a very media friendly world. Sunday, 21 October 2007. We have the trust of the nation, we can't let the people down" - who could this be a quote from? Predictably enough its from the post office, who are engaged in a feeble PR campaign to repair the damage caused to their business and reputation of the postal strike. And who is the celebrity they have got in to boost their brand? Some multi-millionaire pop star perhaps? So if ...

Adam's Advert Monitor: A Suitable Job For a Woman?
http://advertmonitor.blogspot.com/2007/10/suitable-job-for-woman.html
A frank and predominantly sideways look at the many adverts that bombard us in a very media friendly world. Saturday, 13 October 2007. A Suitable Job For a Woman? Although my television viewing has been curtailed by the unfortunate necessity to get a proper job and turn up for work, I have still seen enough adverts in the time i do get to spend at home to find some real gems to talk about. This is a woman who has formed part of opposition cabinet and if the Tories hadn't been completely incompetent could...

Adam's Advert Monitor: No Budget??? No Problem
http://advertmonitor.blogspot.com/2007/11/no-budget-no-problem.html
A frank and predominantly sideways look at the many adverts that bombard us in a very media friendly world. Thursday, 8 November 2007. Most of these adverts seem to be for alternative forms of financing. They pretty much go along the lines of. Are you a moron? Did you get a credit card or a loan and not realise they cost you money? Do you fancy acquiring more debt for yourself? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Other Blogs and Sites that I Read. View my complete profile.
