Jersey Musings: Driving to France
http://jerseymusings.blogspot.com/2008/04/driving-to-france.html
Musings of a Jersey Resident. Wednesday, 30 April 2008. Much as I would like be able to hop into the car and drive to France. Whenever the fancy takes me, I do not expect it to be a possibility in my lifetime. Purely because I have read Peter Walsh's ideas about the uses for the bridge, in the JEP on 23 April 2008. They are not Islanders! Then there is the money. £25 million per year to be raised by a £25 toll on Jersey resident cars - that is 500,000 cars taking a return trip annually! I don't know how ...

Jersey Musings: Circus of Distraction
http://jerseymusings.blogspot.com/2008/02/circus-of-distraction.html
Musings of a Jersey Resident. Saturday, 2 February 2008. Sheryl Crow was interviewed. By the Independent on Saturday. She talks about her experience of political spin; when the media circulated that Crow wanted people not to use so much toilet paper, taken out of it's context from a comic routine as part of a global warming tour. Crow said, "It was on every news channel as if it was news. It was in Jay Leno's monologue, it was everywhere.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Daydreams in a shed.

crapaudmatic: September 2013
http://crapaudmatic.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, 5 September 2013. Seldom seen coastline at La Moye. I finally got to see a stretch of coastline that had eluded me for years. There's a bit of a gap in the cliff paths by the prison. From the west you have to head inland past the 'golfball' radar (with a tantalising bunker on the headland which can't be easily reached, let alone whether by trespassing on private land or not). Even by the last of the fields, the views are looking promising. We emerge out of the woodland (packed with squirrels!

http://crapaudmatic.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 25 October 2013. Not exactly breaking news, but I did take the photos so I might as well share them in case anyone is interested. You still have to admire the work that goes into these creations. Oops Not often I get a finger in the shot :). Obviously I was trying to look like a clumsy amateur, LOL. Labels: Battle of Flowers. Tuesday, 22 October 2013. I have a number of sets of pics queued up, but here's Some Misc to get out of the way first. An extra seating area above the entrance. Hop over tha...

http://crapaudmatic.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, 19 October 2014. It's been a while since I last posted (April) so it's time to catch up. Thanks for all the comments I received (all one of them! Asking when I'd be back. I'm glad to report that Google have sorted out the image upload bug that was making posting here far more tedious than it should be. Before I post collections of pics on specific topics, let's cover the usual Misc first. The most recent and newsworthy first - the old Jeffery's Leap tearooms have been demolished. Heading ashore a...

Sunday, 16 November 2014. Goodbye to the Type 646 bunker at Wn Lewis Tower. October 2014 and we hear that a bunker is due to be demolished along with the old Chateau Plaisir in St.Ouen. Closer. It's a Type 646 bunker, used for pumping and storing water for the Lewis Tower resistance nest group of bunkers. It was hidden within the Chateau building since the 1950s. This shot gives you some idea where. Along with this shot from the bunker at the sea wall, looking inland. Labels: 5 Mile Road. The crapaud (a ...

crapaudmatic: April 2015
http://crapaudmatic.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, 25 April 2015. Bunker Hunting - Resistance Nest Höhe 313. I bet this bunker is one that 99% of Jersey residents have never seen, tucked away as it is down a remote track in St.Martin. From the lane "Rue de la Ville Bree" it's a 3 minute walk between the fields, with distant sea views to the right. To a point halfway along the track "Rue Crespel" where there's T-junction. Turn right into Le Becquet (according to all good maps). BTW Höhe means height, so Hohe 313 is the name for this RN at 313ft ...
