REMEMBER & WAIT: May 2011
http://trevkeva.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:25. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Remembering the Last 5 Years. So I graduated seminary a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, I now have certification to prove that I have mastered divinity. 8220;It is finished.”. At the same time, the world is still broken. People are still dying, sin is still present in our lives, and clearly pain and suffering have not been eliminated. This is no Eden. Come quickly, Lord Jesus is a daily prayer. God b...

Detecting Saxapahaw: My First Spanish Silver!!
http://detectingsaxapahaw.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-first-spanish-silver.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. My First Spanish Silver! I recently took a road trip to do some detecting with the “Pennsylvania Boys”, my buddies Keith and Tracy and my new friend Ethan. It was a beautiful day, although it was blazingly hot in the sun by the end of it. We all had a great time, and came away with a nice pile of relics. We were detecting the site looking for Civil War relics, and we all found quite a few. My favorite is the high-impact Minie ball with the star base clearly visible. Ethan also fo...

Detecting Saxapahaw: June 2015
http://detectingsaxapahaw.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Last night I posted my recent finds to a number of detecting forums that I frequent. I highly recommend posting your finds on such websites, because the large user base can provide an incredible wealth of crowdsourced historical information on just about any topic. As it would happen, I received an alternate ID for the maker's mark on my silver spoon, and after some more digging (hehe) I believe this to be more accurate. Links to this post. Colonial Silver - Spoils of War? I do hav...

Detecting Saxapahaw: April 2014

Wednesday, April 2, 2014. DIV XXVII: Brandy Rock Farm Part 2. The signal that got me down into the ash layer of the fire pit on the first day at Brandy Rock Farm is still a mystery object. It’s a large, flat, and iron, but beyond that I have no idea what it is! Any help would be greatly appreciated! What I do know is that it gave a good signal, and upon digging it out the black charcoal of a Civil War soldier’s fire could be clearly seen. I found the charcoal layer by detecting this iron. thing? The real...

http://detectingsaxapahaw.blogspot.com/2015/06/colonial-silver-spoils-of-war.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Colonial Silver - Spoils of War? I know it's been a while. I still have some cool stuff from way back in January that I haven't posted up here. but I'm working on it. But I just had to share this latest hunt with you all! I tried three new spots with my friend Dustin a few days ago. The first two didn't pan out, but persistence pays off! Before we can fully investigate. Ok, enough suspense, on to the REALLY good stuff! Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more updates on past (an...

Tuesday, January 15, 2013. I hope you got a chance to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend. It's hard to believe it's still January! Of course, I couldn't let such a nice weekend go by without a little detecting. My parents had an opportunity to come down for a visit, so I was fortunate enough to take my dad out for some relic hunting. Links to this post. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. It's an exciting adventure, and I hope you'll continue to read along as I make 2013 the best year yet! To my ...

Detecting Saxapahaw: October 2013
http://detectingsaxapahaw.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 7, 2013. A Wax Bullet Mystery. I did have a bit of a surprise while I was cleaning up my finds for the day. The vast majority of Minie ball bullets have a plain conical cavity base. Some bullets, however, have special markings inside the base cavity from the bullet making machines from specific manufacturing locations. Regular readers may recall the star-base Washington Arsenal bullets I recovered at DIV XIX. The 57 base Enfield bullet I dug at the RRRHA Mine Run. Links to this post.
