Entertainment Media Design

Production Document ( 2nd year ). Monday, 12 April 2010. March 23rd 2010 (Project Finally). Over the weekend I completed texturing the rest of the head and the body, modeling a character for Maya didn’t take as much groundwork as it did for Unreal. After I am happy with the still renders of Vincent the extra content ideas are very open to any possibilities and after this project I will still like to continue making content with the Steampunk theme because I have really enjoyed this project. http://characterartist-tony.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Production Document ( 2nd year ). Friday, 20 February 2009. The idea for my theme is a conpempory moment called Steampunk which is an fantasy time period of the 19th century which widely uses steam powered technology. This idea came to me from watching movies like Metropolis, Lost Children, Steamboy and Sky Captain. This time period inspired me to attend the War museum and Industry museum within manchecter. Please see some of the following photographs and internet reasearch. War Museum and Industry Museum.

So during the past few months I stayed in contact with Nick Sadler who as really influenced me and has gave me some guildence with my project. Entertainment Media Design: Date: March 21st 2010 (Vincent)

http://characterartist-tony.blogspot.com/2010/04/date-march-21st-2010-vincent.html

Production Document ( 2nd year ). Thursday, 1 April 2010. Date: March 21st 2010 (Vincent). All of the sculpturing detail has now been transferred to maps for the low polygon version of the model and now it is just a matter of finishing the textures. When texturing a character, I like to start with the head then work on textures for the body, this will avoid working on areas like the hair which needs lot of tweeking at a later stage in the process. The hair still needs some tweeking. On the course I learn...

Production Document ( 2nd year ). Sunday, 31 January 2010. Date: January 30th 2010 (Debuging problem). I will fill in some details later, but at the moment I need some help with UT. Following on from the above comment:. Over the past few days I have been trying to work out what has gone wrong with my character mesh, why does my character mesh work perfectly in Unreal Editor, but in the Unreal game parts of the mesh is out of place. 2 Each part has its own name e.g. L arm, R arm and so on. Use the smooth ...

Character Archetypes

An archetype is a pervasive idea or image that serves as an original model from which copies are made. In storytelling, it applies to baseline character models that any surface or costuming can be placed upon. The hero is a baseline that can be a superhero, Mr. Incredible, an ogre, Shrek, a girl, Mulan, and so on. The term first comes from Carl Jung, a 20th century psychoanalyst who studied dreams and the unconscious. Jung found that there were r eoccurring images and themes. The Four Base Archetypes.
