Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Rules of the Game- Chapter 5 in the Joy Luck Club. This event is important because the chess playing showed a different side of Waverly Jong (Mei Mie) and the way she acted. Amy Tan was the author of his chapter, Her parents immigrated from China. In this Chapter the author is tiring to show how the Chinese lived in America in 1951. My connection to this chapter is that I have loved to play chess and have been playing it since I was 5.
