Working with German Literature. Since 2007 I have been Lecturer in German at Queen’s College, Oxford. I teach a course on Advanced German Translation. At Oxford University. In 2012 I also co-tutored the German strand of a translation summer school in London: Use your Language, Use your English. I am a member of the Modern Languages Department at Magdalen College School. Working with German Literature. I live in Oxford but travel to London, where. New Books in German. Is based, once a week. I visit Berlin several times a year, for work and pleasure, and attend the Frankfurt and Leipzig Book Fairs every year. Before moving to Oxford in 2007, I completed a PhD in Modern German Literature at University College London. My thesis was on the German-language, post-Holocaust poet Paul Celan, and his translations of French poetry. This was the basis of my monograph.

Working with German Literature. I was one of the translators for the new collection of Bertolt Brecht’s theoretical writings on peformance,. Bloomsbury, 2014). I focused in particular on Brecht’s ‘Modelbooks’ – the manuals that he produced for some of his most-performed plays. I translated one of the chapters in.
