Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Sunday, February 05, 2006. The question is not what you look at, but what you see. Henry David Thoreau. Photography functions on a number of levels. For me, it is a channel for artistic expression, but it is also a method of record for personal experience and remembrance. Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Saturday, March 04, 2006. If someone were to ask me where I live, I could easily point to the solemn tower that’s surrounded by attractive homes. It can be seen for miles along the eastern seaboard. It dutifully represents what my town is all about; freedom, beauty, and a mutual love and respect for the ocean. Posted by Rachelle Campbell @ 3/04/2006 12:25:00 AM. Thursday, March 02, 2006. Springboards of my youth. Ocean, My Love.

Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Wednesday, March 08, 2006. The Art of a Butterfly. She was surrounded by all of the elements; earth from the ground that she performed on, wind that gently pulled and tossed her flowers upon her head and the wings on her back, fire from the continuous burning of the flame upon the commemorative monument for Queen Isabel II down the street, and water supplied from the hundreds of fountains that surrounded us. Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Saturday, February 25, 2006. Train Tracks and Petticoats. The train tracks looked as if they were being swallowed up into the earth’s thick crust. As I took each step, the ground beneath my feet felt soft and spongy, causing me to become frightened that it would give way and I’d be gobbled up into the ground. My heart erratically raced while I fantasized about falling through the earth and into a secret world. Cat Tails and Snails.

Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Wednesday, March 15, 2006. From a Bird's Eye View (Ocean City, Maryland). As my mind came back into focus, I was glad that the railing was conveniently in my way. It kept me from plummeting to the concrete walkway that was speckled with bits of sand that the tourists had shaken from their feet. Only the muffled sounds of mismatched conversations made it up to my perch, as I tried making out why a little boy was screaming. Below the t...

Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Wednesday, April 12, 2006. I didn’t know whether the flowers that had dull yellow middles were just beginning their journey or if their journey came close to ending any day, soon. If their life was ending, what would be next to fail from their beauty? Would the delicate petals melt away, sagging towards the ground from which it sprang? Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Wednesday, March 29, 2006. Stunning, not Obsolete. This is a photograph of two peacocks hanging out on the grounds of Saint John’s Cathedral on the upper side of Manhattan, New York. But, then I realized that they weren’t treated as the odd ones out. In fact, they seemed accepted by all of the birds that traveled along the grounds of the cathedral, emanating the very essence of what the house of God stood forPeace, Love, and Happ...

Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Friday, February 17, 2006. Because I don’t have any children, Alice is like my daughter. She is my baby who needs pampering, attention, and love. She needs stimulating interaction and guidance, especially because she doesn’t have contact with her biological mother. I am her mother, now, and I fully live up to that responsibility. I placed the carrier inside my car on the front passenger seat and backed down my driveway. I couldn’...

Through the Eyes of the Beholder. An Inspirational Photo/Literary Blog. Wednesday, March 22, 2006. Rachelle of the Jungle. This is a photograph of an elephant that I took while on a safari at the Wild Animal Kingdom near Walt Disney World, Florida. As soon as the last passenger left the truck, we were signaled to jump aboard. I sat second to the outside. There were no windows, just empty slots between poles that held the worn, green canvas that slung above our heads. As we left port, the driv...It brilli...
