I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library." - Jorge Luis Borges. Sunday, December 22, 2013. The Moon and More: Review. The Moon and More. My rating: 4 of 5 stars. The Moon and More. Things get awkward when her father arrives in Colby, with her half-brother Benji in tow. Emaline develops a tender, caring relationship with the boy, a sweet little kid who just craves love and attention. As for her father? Well, he’s a little more problematic. Theo’s worldly and sophisticated. ...Champai...

Early Chapter Book Reviews. Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Interview with Jen Cullerton Johnson. By Jen Cullerton Johnson. Is a wonderful picture book biography on Wangari Maathai. My review. I loved it so much, I reached out to author who was kind enough to agree to do an interview. Hi, Jen and welcome. Can you tell us a little about yourself? I live and teach Spanish in Chicago. I just started a new teaching job at Simpson Academy for Young Women. And go to used books stores. Who is Wangari Maathai?

Author Gail Gauthier's Reflections On Children's Books, Writing, And The World of Children's Publishing. Monday, May 18, 2015. Fairest: Levana's Story" Now This Was Interesting. Fairest: Levana’s Story. Is part of her Lunar Chronicles. Is her backstory. With it we also get the backstory of many of the other characters. Way back backstory. I like the Lunar Chronicles. Levana’s back story is interesting for those reasons and because it’s romance gone bad. She’s nasty because she isn’t loved? All the other ...

ten years before the flood: March 2015
http://tenyearsbeforetheflood.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. I'd been meaning to try Eugenides sooner or later, and of his three books, The Marriage Plot. You guys, I can sympathize with the characters so much. Painful search for meaning in a post-graduation world when you don't know what the heck you want to do? Wanted this book to be was the story of how Madeleine ditched Leonard (sorry for your suffering, bro, but just - no) and formed the ménage à trois. Actually, William Deresiewicz's review. I kind of wanted to kick the Mother Superior a bit at this point.). Friday, April 24, 2015. A Pansy ...
