Adventure's of Jake and Chelsea. Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Kettle-Moraine and Tower Hill State Parks. So we've been delinquent with our postings. Over the past few weeks we've traveled to Tower Hill State Park, canoed on the Wisconsin River, and "mountain biked" in Kettle-Moraine state park. The photo below is of a spring fed lake that used to be a 1800's resort hotel. The brook trout fishing looked excellent, but I've developed a habit of leaving the fly rods at home. Sunday, July 12, 2009. Fourth of July Weekend! We spent 4th of July weekend in Ilwaco, camping at Eagles Nest resort. The weather was just right, sunny but not too hot. We had a great time with Jackie, Mike and the girls and Brenda's parents. We visited Long Beach, went fishing and crabbing, found some geo caches, and watched the fireworks from the deck of the resort. Jackie watching the fire. Mike grilling dinner for us. Carter got to play outside.in the driveway, since the backyard is still covered with hard, crunchy snow. He rode all over and also played in the small part of grass in the front yard. Come on Spring! Wednesday, February 17, 2010. What we have been up to other than blogging. What do you do in Wisconsin when it is freezing outside? You go ice bike riding of course! Justin's friends Andy and Mike have been doing this for a couple years and invited us to come along one weekend. They use tires with special screws to ride on the ice. Really, it is neat to watch. Justin did some riding and really enjoyed it. I am way too big of a weenie. I decided to keep what dignity I have and just watch everyone else.
