A Beautiful Journey: Oct 11, 2010
http://creativehamilton.blogspot.com/2010_10_11_archive.html
A Moment in Time. 4 Is the magic Number. Monday, October 11, 2010. What went well in the first essay. The first essay was more of an adventure for me. i had the opportunity and time to try out a new and different style of writing contrary to my straight forward approach. my ability to tell a story with the story should create an interesting twist or prospect to the full story. As hamilton the adult is reminising, i had to stay on the theme of New Year, making his present-NEW YEAR'S DAY. Links to this post.

A Moment in Time. 4 Is the magic Number. Monday, November 22, 2010. I venue i chose for publication is upstreet. it is a very open publication to poetry, nonfiction, essay and prose. As i navigated the sight, i realized that half of their publications, past to current issues were nonfiction. this resognates well with me considering that my desire piece is nonfiction, specifically creative nonfiction. For all of those reason i decided to go with upstreet publication as my desired publication venue.

Creative Nonfiction: Essay 4....
http://papamar-marjorie.blogspot.com/2010/11/essay-4.html
Wednesday, November 17, 2010. As usual, I posted my "pre-draft" as my complete draft! So I'm going to re-post it - with my own ideas/suggestions for revision, inserted where I'm questioning the essay. If this fits into the expectation of Essay 4, I really think I might like to polish this one. Essay 4 – Draft 1. I had seen him before. Of course I had seen him before, we graduated high school together. I also have several distinct and vivid memories over the years of chance meetings. Except this time, it&...

Creative Nonfiction: Draft Reflective Analysis on portfolio
http://papamar-marjorie.blogspot.com/2010/11/draft-reflective-analysis-on-portfolio.html
Monday, November 29, 2010. Draft Reflective Analysis on portfolio. I have always been passionate about writing. I tend to be a passionate person by nature and when I find an outlet that makes me feel like I’m accomplishing something, I put my whole heart and soul into it, figuratively speaking. For as long as I can remember, writing has evoked that feeling in me. Yet it has always been when I am allowed full free reign to write about whatever I am compelled to, that I awaken the most. This is what happen...

Creative Nonfiction: September 2010
http://papamar-marjorie.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 29, 2010. My chosen "I" essays. Hogan was completely different. Her subject matter was literally on bats! This is the first essay I have read so far that had an almost lyrical language. You can literally see both sides of her personal debate that leaves your thinking questionable. It had a sort of similarity to the story of Karla Faye in that it leaves you questioning your standpoints the same way. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Kidder, Lopate, Lott readings. After reading the essays...

Creative Non-fiction by Nashira. Monday, December 20, 2010. The Scientific Observation of Scraping My Knee. Nothing is worse than not realizing that there is something underneath this thing called skin that looks like fresh turkey meat but it’s called tissue, but you don’t wipe your nose with it, and then some liquid coming out of it that seeps out to slow, but way too fast for comprehension, and you have to sop it up like thanksgiving bread on gravy, all in 8.5 seconds. What was there to say?

Creative Nonfiction: Audience for my work?
http://papamar-marjorie.blogspot.com/2010/11/audience-for-my-work.html
Monday, November 22, 2010. Audience for my work? I add a question mark at the end of my title because I have no solid idea! Honestly, I can picture my essay in something such as Guidepost or Reader's Digest. Just a publication looking for an essay with a message I guess. I don't have the length that many of these journals seem to be looking for. I can add to my essays, but my concern is that I will become too wordy and lose "my voice" in the process, just to add length. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
