Friday, 16 January 2009. It was a nail biting tie with Bristol City on Tuesday night, that saw us clinch the game through David James' superb performance following some great instinct saves and a penalty save, and Crouch handball it in Pompey's penalty area before going up and scoring the other end, but oh well it's about time we got some good luck. And it seems that the start of our good fortunes is set to arrive in the form of Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Off the back ...

Saturday, 11 April 2009. Pompey 2 West Brom 2. Although a point isn't all that bad with four points between us and the relegation zone - providing Stoke beat Newcastle this afternoon. With 10-15 minutes to go we were trying so hard to score and get that all crucial winner which may have seen us not be so nervous in the last remaining fixtures, but Hart refused to stick on that much needed second striker on until injury time. Taylor and O'Brien returning to Fratton Park, will surely have a big influence, ...

The Pompey Pages: African Cup of Nations to sink Pompey's battleship?
http://portsmouth-fans.blogspot.com/2009/11/african-cup-of-nations-to-sink-pompeys.html
Tuesday, 10 November 2009. African Cup of Nations to sink Pompey's battleship? As many know, the African Cup of Nations has come around once again this coming January, and once again the cup will be a big strain on Pompey's squad. Although Boateng is German, he has dual citizenship, making him eligible for the competition if Ghana decided to call him up, and Boateng accepts. I brought it to people’s notice a month ago, because it will take the spine out of the team and could be a difficult situation.

Friday, 20 February 2009. Offer this man a new contract. He has been my Man of the Match on more than one occasion this season and for me has been by far Pompey's player of the season. Yet he has still not signed a new contract. Sean Davis' contract runs out in the summer, and the board have been negotiating with Sean for the last 15 months to keep him at Fratton. Park, but it seems impossible to tie up a deal between the two. But I urge Paul Hart, Peter Storrie. He is by far the best. Pompey and Stoke h...

Thursday, 16 April 2009. The news that Niko Kranjcar. Is up for the fight to keep us in the Premier League, and is committed to Pompey if we keep our Premier League status is absolutely superb. There were a lot of worries surrounding Niko moving in the summer. Rumours of a move to Panathinaikos. Arsenal, Spuds, and a few more, but Niko has in fact come out saying that he hasn't been approached by anyone yet, he is not fussed about Panathinaikos. He also believes that we will definitely stay in the Prem.

The Pompey Pages: Jamie O'Hara hits out
http://portsmouth-fans.blogspot.com/2009/11/jamie-ohara-hits-out.html
Monday, 9 November 2009. Jamie O'Hara hits out. Pompey's influential on-loan midfielder Jamie O'Hara believes Pompey 'shot themselves in the foot' on Saturday after throwing away a 1-0 half-time lead against Blackburn. The Blues went 1-0 up thanks to O'Hara's brilliance that has been shown all season, and many believe that the player on-loan from Spurs, is key to Pompey's survival fight this season, but Jamie reckons the Fratton Park outfit need to turn things around quickly to win the fight. The Blues c...
