Baseball from a Teen's Perspective: An Idea for Evalution of Power
http://teenbaseball.blogspot.com/2009/11/idea-for-evalution-of-power.html
Sunday, November 22, 2009. An Idea for Evalution of Power. For some reason, I am not a fan of slugging percentage. It may or may not show how much power that a player has, but I have good idea for a stat:. Extra-base percent (XBP or XB%) = (Doubles Triples Home Runs) / Hits. Extra Base Hits/ Hits. This stat would show how often the hitter makes powerful contact per hit. Instead of per at bat. Some examples of why this stat works: (all stats from 2009 season). Ryan Howard: (37 4 45)/172= 86/172= 50%.

Baseball from a Teen's Perspective: My hopes for Mark McGwire
http://teenbaseball.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-hopes-for-mark-mcgwire.html
Monday, January 11, 2010. My hopes for Mark McGwire. Today, Mark McGwire admitted using performance enhancing drugs. Right now I am watching him in a interview with Bob Costas on MLB Network. He acts more like he is sorry that he HAD to admit it, than sorry that he he actually did it. Eventually he had to admit it, otherwise he would have these question surrounding him for his whole time with Cardinals as a hitting coach. PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS, PEDs, help a player with his proformance! LOB= Runners...

Baseball from a Teen's Perspective: Luis Castillo will not be traded this offseason
http://teenbaseball.blogspot.com/2010/01/luis-castillo-will-not-be-traded-this.html
Monday, January 4, 2010. Luis Castillo will not be traded this offseason. As a Mets fan, I feel bad saying this, but it's not gonna happen. The reason, who wants an aging second baseman who is being paid 6.25 mil? There are not very many teams who need a second baseman anyway. I would say that the only teams that really need are the Nationals, Dodgers, and Cubs(kind of). The only trades that really jumped out at me were:. Castillo and 2 mil cash to the Nats for Josh Willingham. What should the Mets do?

Baseball from a Teen's Perspective: Rafael Soriano traded to the Rays, makes an intesting closing situation
http://teenbaseball.blogspot.com/2009/12/rafael-soriano-traded-to-rays.html
Thursday, December 10, 2009. Rafael Soriano traded to the Rays, makes an intesting closing situation. The Braves trade Rafael Soriano to the Rays for Jesse Chavez. Chavez, you may remember was traded to the Rays for Akinori Iwamura, a little more than a month ago. Soriano was offered arbitration by the Braves. He decided to accept, even though Billy Wagner signed with the team earlier in the week. Grant Balfour is also a candidate, as he had 4 saves last year. I read a post. Another point he makes: Do yo...

Baseball from a Teen's Perspective: WHAT?
http://teenbaseball.blogspot.com/2010/01/what.html
Tuesday, January 12, 2010. According to SI.com, the Marlins, MLB and MLBPA agree to increase the Marlins payroll. How does this work? Is the MLB giving them extra funds or something? Do the Marlins have more money to spend and are being forced to spend? The Marlin should spend more money, but considering the fact that they finished the year with a better record than the team with the second highest payroll in the league, the Mets, and that they won a championship on less, they may not NEED to. Baseball from a Teen's Perspective: What does Joe Mauer contract extention mean for the Twins AND the MLB?
http://teenbaseball.blogspot.com/2010/03/what-does-joe-mauer-contract-extention.html
Tuesday, March 30, 2010. What does Joe Mauer contract extention mean for the Twins AND the MLB? First of all, Joe Mauer's contract extension keeps a star on a small market team, which makes them worth watching. All teams must have a star to drive their team to the next level, no matter what kind of market they are in. For example, Crawford and Longoria for the Rays, Greinke for the Royals, and Adrian Gonzalez from the Padres. Posted by Harris Ackermann. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). LOB= Runners le...

Monday, January 18, 2010. Jose Offerman does it again. Ok, this guy is out of control. Jose Offerman, former major leaguer and current Licey Tigers manager (Domincan League), punched a first base umpire in the face during a game. He was arrested after the game. You may remember in 2007, Offerman attacked an independent league pitcher with a bat. First of all, it is ridiculous that the umps. Are getting threats. The umpire is one that got attacked, and Offerman is the one being protected. I unders...Do th...
