Scribbles in the Sun: July 2014
http://scribblesinthesun.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Scribbles in the Sun. Thursday, July 24, 2014. Not an early bird, but I caught the worm. It's been a find-a-worm-in-your-mango kind of week. No, really.today I took a nice big bite then saw a worm meandering through the mango. Thankfully, I hadn't swallowed yet! My great news for the week is that yesterday our passports were delivered back to us, with our visas stamped inside! Thank you to everyone who has been praying for this to happen! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go inspect the rest of my fruit.

Friday, 29 May 2015. Tree Planting - Part 3. The week following the "work day" - a national teacher from Samaritan's Purse came to my village to teach about the tree planting and nursery sacs. It is so great to partner with other organizations who have knowledge and are great teachers! The first part of the training session was the teaching portion - we all gathered under a straw hut for shade and learned about how to construct tree nursery sacs, plant the seeds, and plant the seedlings. 1 shovel of clay.

Scribbles in the Sun: December 2013

Scribbles in the Sun. Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Just a little greeting to say thanks, as we remember how Love came down that day. Personalize a picture collage. Friday, December 06, 2013. Last Saturday we drove to Valencia (3hr drive to the west) for the annual Christmas luncheon for the pastors of the C&MA Venezuela. It was a beautiful morning for a drive, not a cloud in the sky.which is amazing since we are still at the tail end of rainy season so it seems like it's cloudy every day! This is Marcelo,...

Here is my suitcase all packed up! PS I sent out a newsletter yesterday AND made a blog post today. I feel like I could conquer the world. Follow me on Twitter.

Saturday, 30 August 2014. Adventuresome and Thrilling Driving. That day, we were in a village area that is covered with crevasses and dry gulches. In order to reach the distribution location (the village representative’s huts) – we had to go quite a few kilometres out of our way to skirt around these deep cracks in the ground. After I drove out of the gulch – this is what I saw …. And my guide said “Just follow the road Khadiza! Can you see the road? 8230; and another large dry gulch. The rains this time...

Wednesday, 5 February 2014. Wordless Wednesday : Formal Attire Please. Posted by Kristi Hopf:. Monday, 3 February 2014. As mentioned in the last blog post – I recently travelled into the bush to visit a village school … Tinadakal. A tiny village so small, it doesn’t register on a map! But, the trip took us on a road parallel to the river, and the view was gorgeous – both of the river and beyond. Passing a watering hole covering the road:. I loved the name of this village:. Part of the Village:. Simple te...

Thursday, 24 April 2014. Field Trip–Part 2. While I was out east learning about new farming techniques, we also stopped by a garden project being run by Samaritan’s Purse. The magnitude of this village gardening project was astounding! A few of my village areas have gardens – but only those next to the marsh … it was encouraging to see what is possible with a well and hard work! From there, the villagers take the water into the garden with small buckets and watering cans to water each plant! However, the...
