Cherub Mamma: getting services started
http://cherubmamma.blogspot.com/2015/05/getting-services-started.html
Foster Care in Bullet Points. How I Treat Lice. Monday, May 11, 2015. Russell came to our home on Monday, April 6. I took Russell to the doctor on Wednesday, April 8. The doctor did an exam and sent a referral, that day, to a local therapy company. Russell, due to his special needs, qualifies for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. I explained to the doctor that Russell had been receiving these services while in the shelter in Central Texas. Russell went back to the doctor on Frid...

Foster Care in Bullet Points. How I Treat Lice. Friday, May 22, 2015. More reader questions answered. Russell is still asleep. TT and Bart are frying their brains watching TV. The house is reasonably clean and I don't have any freelancing that has to be done. So I'll answer some more questions. :). Thank you for finding time to post so frequently and for answering questions and sharing your knowledge. To keep you going: what is Ricky planning for the next year? Cherub Mamma: Updates on other kids
http://cherubmamma.blogspot.com/2015/05/updates-on-other-kids.html
Foster Care in Bullet Points. How I Treat Lice. Thursday, May 7, 2015. Updates on other kids. Awhile ago I posted on FB asking if anyone had a blog topic they'd like me to tackle. Several people sent me some ideas. Life has been a bit busy so I haven't gotten to them yet. I figured I could knock out this relatively easy topic though:. How about any updates on any of the kids you have taken care of? Or maybe a funniest story, most embarrassing moment. Something light. Update on Honey Badger Diva Ballerina.

Foster Care in Bullet Points. How I Treat Lice. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times. I'm super tired and worn out but I'll word vomit this to try and capture all that happened today. Daisyand her newborn baby sister.came back into foster care today. I had to tell Emilia that our home is currently full. I cried. So, I called my agency to see if a disruption would even be allowed. Rainbow put a call in to the director who was in a training up in Dallas. At aroun...

Foster Care in Bullet Points. How I Treat Lice. Foster Care in Bullet Points. I don't even know how to respond when we say something about getting a new placement and someone says, "congratulations". This child had to suffer abuse, neglect, abandonment or all three in order to be removed from their family. Right now they are going through HELL. The last thing I need to be told or they need to overhear is, "congratulations". Umno Not even close! There's a special place in heaven for people like you. Be te...

In)fertility, foster care and what happens after. June 12, 2013. Denying the loss, I know I am finally ready to really open our home back up. We’ve had a few calls, mostly ones that don’t fit our profile. But, a few weeks ago we had a call that I think could have been a perfect fit. A 13 year old girl who had a relatively stable life and good relationships within her family. Until she didn’t. Husband said no, absolutely not. Words were exchanged. An argument ensued. Thirteen year old girl. And I wait, be...

Experiences of an Eternal Student: The "M" Word
http://theeducationaddict.blogspot.com/2016/02/the-m-word.html
Experiences of an Eternal Student. Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card! Thursday, February 18, 2016. When Talented Toddler and Little One were with us, I was very careful to never refer to myself as "Mommy." I knew that reunification was the goal and I didn't want to confuse Talented Toddler or disrupt her attachment any further. You can see how well that worked out here. Just like all the other kids do. There will be some awkward conversations with preschool teachers in our future.

It's time for another Adoption Link-Up, and this week's theme, as you can see from my title, is "A Day in the Life." I'm blessed that Geordi is fairly emotionally healthy (so far, knock on wood! So my days are not too stressful. Soon I'll be on my way to pick him up from school, but here's what today looks like:. 12:15 PM: Go order Geordi's birthday cake! 2:15 PM: Make tim...

Experiences of an Eternal Student. Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card! Thursday, December 24, 2015. On the plus side, the mom's husband is still sticking around, so I hope he will help out when she gets really depressed. Geordi is with his grandparents for Christmas Eve, since Santa comes to their house. We get him tomorrow and over the weekend. The custody case looks like it might be a mess, but isn't that to be expected? Links to this post. Friday, December 11, 2015. Links to this post.

Foster Care in Bullet Points. How I Treat Lice. Wednesday, January 17, 2018. We take a break between each and every placement. We always have. I've seen some parents say, in support groups online, that they'll say goodbye to one placement in the morning and they'll welcome a new one in the afternoon. I could never do that. I think it's important to take a break in-between placements for multiple reasons. 1 It gives our family a chance to regroup and reconnect as a core unit of five. 2 It keeps me grounded.
