Destashing steadily: December 2010
http://chicagocrafts.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Crafts of all kinds from Chicago (in which I use up all my craft supplies by the end of this blog). Sunday, December 5, 2010. I've been working on several projects, but not posting. I'll catch up a little this week. First, some house work- we put the radiators back online just in time for the cold snap. Phew! This is the quilt I made for my brother and his wife- their first baby is due in January. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Chicago, IL, United States. View my complete profile. Clackamas County Fair 2016.

Crafts of all kinds from Chicago (in which I use up all my craft supplies by the end of this blog). Wednesday, October 13, 2010. The baby blanket is coming along somewhat slowly. Work has wiped me out this week, and I've not done much crafting in the evenings. As you can see, the patterns are reproductions. Again, I'm not much of a fan, but it'll be a quick utili-blanket. I found a new favorite apple this fall, the SunCrisp. Monday, October 11, 2010. Sunday, October 3, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Destashing steadily: Sewing and knitting
http://chicagocrafts.blogspot.com/2011/03/sewing-and-knitting.html
Crafts of all kinds from Chicago (in which I use up all my craft supplies by the end of this blog). Friday, March 25, 2011. Yarn: Bernat Baby Jacquards. Knit from the top down. Zipper attached to grosgrain ribbon by machine, then handstitched to sweater. The sweater is for my #6 nephew. He's not strangely shaped, but I was afraid if I ripped back that sleeve I'd not finish it before he outgrew the sweater! Very nice. I am sure that child will look adorable in it. March 25, 2011 at 9:41 PM. Give me a purl!
Destashing steadily: August 2010

Crafts of all kinds from Chicago (in which I use up all my craft supplies by the end of this blog). Sunday, August 8, 2010. Machine quilted around the stars and tacked with embroidery floss in crucial spots. The backing is one of the fabrics in the Verna line, edged with another fabric in the collection. Binding is plain strips from two quarter yard cuts of fabric from the collection, machine sewn on one side and hand sewn on the front. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Chicago, IL, United States. Destashing steadily: A Delicious Quilt
http://chicagocrafts.blogspot.com/2012/02/delicious-quilt.html
Crafts of all kinds from Chicago (in which I use up all my craft supplies by the end of this blog). Friday, February 17, 2012. I decided to set a deadline for the quilt I'm making with a Strawberry Fields. Layer cake. After a few false starts involving fabric that didn't match and some pattern indecision, I settled on a four-patch with white sashing. This was last Saturday morning. Let's see how far I get tomorrow morning! Knit for a baby my friend Jen is expecting). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

she's sew unusual: May 2008
http://shessewunusual.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 19, 2008. They say it's your birthday! Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to me! In honor of my 31st year, I decided it was time to get my hair cut. So, I've gone from mid-back to, as my boss calls it, the "Suri Cruise" bob. Is it just me or do other people feel the need for change around that time of year? Monday, May 12, 2008. Tagged me for a literary meme, which is good because I was beginning to feel left out (grin). Here are the basic rules:. 1 Pick up the nearest book.

Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Finger lickin' good, or why sewing makes a bad day better. Today was a pretty rotten day at work, I have to say. Probably one of the top five in the past two years. A real doozy, so much so I had to shop, sew, and. Have a good cry to start feeling better. I went shopping for some new skirts, actually. I picked up a four more to add to the collection and a skort, too! Lately, I've been biking the 10 miles to work each way and it's hot. It does have a bit of a vintage feel in that t...
she's sew unusual: Pattern Review: Snuggie Baby Wrap Blanket
http://shessewunusual.blogspot.com/2008/12/pattern-review-snuggie-baby-wrap.html
Sunday, December 7, 2008. Pattern Review: Snuggie Baby Wrap Blanket. My former supervisor and friend had her baby shower today. Not too long ago, I used one of my 20% off coupons at Border's to purchase Amy Butler's Little Stitches for Little Ones. This book has been reviewed by others and I have to say, believe the hype! The patterns are adorable and witty, smart and sophisticated yet incredibly charming. For my first Amy Butler pattern and first baby shower (yes, it's true! I love the hood on this blan...

Thursday, June 18, 2009. Reason #183 to stash.or me at 32 weeks. Hey there friendly readers! So, what have I been up to? Well, currently I am what I have come to think of as *seriously* pregnant. Almost 35 weeks along and counting the days, that's for sure! Lately I find myself feeling every ounce gained thus far and, dude, creating life is exhausting. Work But, truthfully, I can't really complain. Thus far it's been fairly easy going and I am feeling pretty great overall :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, July 19, 2009. Nesting as "my time" approaches. I think the so called "nesting instinct" has kicked in. Finally! Why "finally," you ask? Well, I am 38 weeks and only just getting around to organizing and preparing for a nursery. Does everyone procrastinate like this or is it just me? I am expecting the furniture to arrive next week some time and in anticipation of this, coupled with this new found energy, I find myself eager to sort out the closet situation. What does this have to sewing? Like ev...

Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Analysis of the "Swayback," the making of V8532. In spite of my blog silence the past month, it does not mean my sewing machine has been in hibernation. In fact, it's been quite busy, sewing up a few projects. None have been completed though because of the issue of my dreaded swayback. I have a much bigger issue with this image of the side. It's just as bad on the right as the left. That wrinkle starts from the left waist and extends to the bottom of the dart. I'm n...From an a...
she's sew unusual: Mommy-brain strikes again!
http://shessewunusual.blogspot.com/2009/10/mommy-brain-strikes-again.html
Thursday, October 15, 2009. I was going to post a massive expose on how the Vogue pattern company lied and lied and lied about V2975, but in the process of breaking down the madness I realized I can no longer add. As deceptive as the photos on the envelope are, the measurements ARE correct as published. In my own defense, how can anyone consider fractions when this cutie pie is smiling at you? Later I will post what I did with the pants and the progress made. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
