Having personally experienced first-hand the powerless and helplessness in the face of the tragic fate of a family living in Jerusalem motivated us to become innovative about new options to support others in similar terrible situations. Our fruitless efforts to engage the support of an established humanitarian organization sparked our initiative to start our own. As the daily news of bombardments in Gaza reached the rest of the world in January 2009, the Children in Palestine organization was launched.
