Musician, thinker about sound. March 14, 2011. Sing Along With ONE. Really, its the easiest way to practice this piece. Its meant to be a lighthearted, rhythmic thing, not too serious. Once you get the groove of it, it just works on its own. It makes use of the wide range of notes made available by well trained singers. The recording I have here is great, but there are a few mistakes. Can you tell where they are? March 6, 2011. I Love N.Y! So I’m going to include recordings of each section of ONE f...

The Concert Hall | Troy Paradio

February 16, 2011. The concert at EMPAC should be quite spectacular! All four choirs surrounding the audience. Imagine being at the center of this! We will also perform Antonio Caldara’s Crucifixus, a splendid example of 17th century Venetian polychoral composition. Also there will be an eerily beautiful piece called Ariel’s Song. By RPI faculty member, Mary Jane Leach. You can hear an exerpt of it here. Musician, thinker about sound View all posts by kathykennedy. Catching Up ». Enter your comment here.

Customs | Troy Paradio
https://troyparadio.wordpress.com/2011/02/09/customs
February 9, 2011. I was so psyched about rehearsing with all four choirs today. And for some strange reason the customs officers at Lacolle today were in a very nitpicky mood. Although very polite and accommodating, their supervisor insisted that I needed a work permit in hand to cross the border today. I’m left to wait a whole week to hear the pages of choral music I’ve been busily composing. Musician, thinker about sound View all posts by kathykennedy. Map/Score v.1.1. The Concert Hall ».

From here on in, we get to finetune, and I’d like to help make the process easier if at all possible. So I’m going to include recordings of each section of ONE for you all to download and practice with. Here is a recording of the Christ Church Cathedral Choir in Montreal singing. February 1, 2011. I think of this video as a real inspiration for what I would LIKE to do. January 28, 2011. This project of creating a collaborative choral composition is fairly unusual, and it takes a fair bit of explanation. By making it about a specific location I’m both complicating the issue and giving it a clearer context, allowing it to be about something. The city of Troy. This parade-like choral piece is intended to spread music, and particularly singing out of the concert hall and literally in...
