America's Great Loop by Trawler. Barnegat Bay, NJ. Day 1 in Ottawa. July 22, 2016. We spent 2 nights at Sunset Cove on the shores of the village of Stuart. This is a nice place – a vibrant village. We walked the streets sightseeing, shopping, and eating. Last night we found a delicious little Thai restaurant a short walk from the marina. And, we took a loop ride on the village’s free shuttle service. Rich on the Stuart Riverwalk, under Route 1 bridge over the St. Lucie River in Stuart, FL. July 20, 2016.

She is on her way to Texas with new owners Mike and Claire Messengill. We had special times on Choices, sometimes stretching us far outside our comfort zone, but always new and exciting. We were happy with our choice to adventure via the sea and now look forward to adventures via land: an RV is in our near future. July 29, 2016. We headed out today as the sun rose.

We purchased a 10 day pass ($37.50) and traveled almost 70 miles to Brockport. There are many small towns, bridges and locks on the Erie Canal. Three meals meant lots of cooking, but it was nice to eat on board. We are expecting flat seas on Thursday, so tomorrow will be our last day here. This has been the friendliest reception we've had. The dockmaster came out to greet us and invited us to the office when it was convenient for us. There are many stained glass windows, a pipe organ, and Stations of the Cross made of actual carvings rather than plaques on the walls. Although lock 1 was about 4 miles away, it was ready for us when we arrived. (Love all of the friendly lockmasters! The wall here is free, but there is a charge of $5.00 for electricity- -very reasonable! We walked in to town to mail a card, knowing that rain was expected later on.
