Christina Creating: October 2014
http://christinacreating.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 26, 2014. A Warm Hug From Your Best Boyfriend. Trying to take a selfie while giving myself a hug! That is how I feel about my new Ombre Yarneater sweater. Here you can see the full sweater a little better. I ended up with seven stripes as I made my way through the yarns. It's more striped than an ombre effect, but on the other hand it definitely progresses from a lighter, brighter colour to darks. I am happy with the balance. That's my first handspun in the first few rows of the. I had to...
Christina Creating: November 2014
http://christinacreating.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Paper, Glue, and Tape. I had a great day this past weekend crafting with my sister and her daughter. They drove to my house and we spent the afternoon working on our own projects while watching Dr Who rescue planets. My niece was working on a crocheted baby blanket. A pretty shell pattern. At one point she had to start a new ball and it turned out it was one of those skeins where you can't find the end from the centre without pulling out half of the ball. While my company was w...
Christina Creating: June 2014
http://christinacreating.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 3, 2014. I'll Take Cashmere, Please. I didn't expect to post anything more before I left, but I managed to fit in one more project. I had been pondering what purse/bag to take on the trip because it needed to be big enough to carry a lot, small enough not to be bulky, comfortable, easy to carry, somewhat secure from sticky fingers.the list goes on. The one I preferred is this sad and sorry looking messenger bag:. I've had it since at least 1999 and it looks it! Anyway.) I decided the ar...
Christina Creating: Quilt Top
http://christinacreating.blogspot.com/2015/05/quilt-top.html
Saturday, May 16, 2015. I finished the last seam in my orange and grey zig zag quilt top this morning. I was glad to be done that stage since it is necessary to get to the next stage, (repeat last step as many times as necessary) to get the quilt done. But then I threw it on my bed so I could make sure I didn't get mixed up by the diagonal seams and did actually end up with a rectangle. And then I got excited. And speaking of the backing, I have no idea what I'm going to do! Posted by troy and christina.
Christina Creating: September 2014

Wednesday, September 24, 2014. The Yarn Eater is Hungry. And it is eating up the yarn! It's also growing like crazy. I'm remembering the fun of doing a project in big, bulky yarns! By Sunday, I had the collar done and started the yoke increases and the second stripe of colour. After the mix that I showed you in the swatch, I used my hand spun and a Malabrigo yarn that looked almost the same. (I didn't hold them together- I alternated them.). And the same pale yellow as in the turtle neck. Except I'm ...

Kansas Summertime | Toddlers and Scholars
https://davelisaswartz.wordpress.com/2015/06/15/kansas-summertime
Our lives as graduate students and parents. June 15, 2015. Spring is a great time to visit Kansas. The weather is perfect for exploring outside. . . Checking the mailbox with Grandma. . . Climbing local trees. . . And roasting hot dogs. Grandpa appears to be a little more confident in Jonathan’s driving skills than Ben is. Ben survived the tractor ride and also enjoyed some quality time with his scooter while Anna decorated the driveway. It was a good week. Thanks Mom and Dad (Grandpa and Grandma)! Fill ...
blueadt ~ Scrappy Challenge
http://blueadt.com/blog/2012/05/09/scrappy-shapes
A bit of knitting, sewing and whatever else I throw in…. After reading this magazine I set myself a challenge:. Yes that is the Tumbler quilt underneath but it’s not quite finished yet so let’s move on.). I have a bag overflowing with scrap fabrics. Some from my own projects and others from bags sold as a pick and mix, (I can’t resist a bag of scraps). I do dip into it occasionally but like the idea of sorting them out into more useable shapes before it starts taking over the house. You may leave a reply.

blueadt ~ Returning to crafting
http://blueadt.com/blog/2014/05/08/returning-to-crafting
A bit of knitting, sewing and whatever else I throw in…. I’m back. I took a break from blogging as my ankle injury was getting in the way of crafting and the pain was getting me down. I’ve finally got a diagnosis and have scratched the thin layer of cartilage on the Talar Dome. Think of a knuckle bone after a dog has had a quick gnaw on it). Physiotherapy twice a week for the past 3 months is really helping and I’m more mobile than I was but not fully healed yet. Project. I found this video on Youtube.

Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Runway; Fun Day. I've had some excitement around here and it felt like it happened so fast I didn't have a chance to write about it. And then afterward I thought I'd better wait for the pictures because I remember the first rule of blogging: No pictures means it didn't happen. Well, it's a runway show of Vogue Knitting readers wearing garments or accessories that they have knit from Vogue Knitting patterns. Simple enough, right? Yes, she's wearing my My Sister's Shawl. We took th...
