Theology, fiction, music and baseball. All from a Montavilla basement. Laquo; In Memory of the Old Times. January 17, 2011 by adamsteward. I’ve been reading through some of Martin Luther King’s speeches this morning, and reading this passage from “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence”. Have they forgotten that my ministry is in obedience to the one who loved his enemies so fully that he died for them? Can I threaten them with death or must I not share with them my life? Thursday, May 31, 2007. A Summer Reading Change. In other news, I finished Volf's The End of Memory: Remembering Rightly in a Violent World. And I'll write about it later. You know, Dave, I'm a little surprised/offended that you didn't include me in your reading list, the preeminent theologian that I am. Just because this co-called "AAR" hasn't held sessions on "Wilson's Thought" doesn't mean anything to me, and it shouldn't to you, either. Get with it, man. June 1, 2007 at 11:44 AM. Home of futility, finality, and frivolity. Update on the update. So, it seems that all the front room windows were supposed to be tempered glass. None are. The condo people are appealling the issue, and word is we'll pass, but it's just gonna take a few days. So, now. The earliest I can move is next Thursday, the first of July. So, I've spent three days of my vacation waiting for a go-ahead, and instead I get next Thursday. Posted by Tré @ 5:17 PM. Update on the move. Posted by Tré @ 8:08 AM. Posted by T...

Sunday, April 29, 2007. As I look around the theoblogosphere, I've noticed that the title for this blog might seem odd, or even perhaps patronizing, in comparison to other titles. It is also not very descriptive up front, so here is my effort to give a better descriptive identity to a blog titled flying.farther. He picked her up some flowers. On a sunday afternoon. They sat out on the porch swing. Underneath the cresent moon. Life times seemed to pass. Staring at the skies. There were tears in her eyes.

Theology, fiction, music and baseball. All from a Montavilla basement. Is Teilhard de Chardin just a theological complete-double-rainbow-man? September 9, 2010 by adamsteward. I’m trying to ask that question as honestly as I can. I can’t say that I’ve ever felt really all that compelled by any panentheistic theological project as I’ve encountered it. But I’ve always maintained that anybody that doesn’t at times at least want to. Once again the Fire has penetrated the earth. Bit of nature is. I’m tr...
