Karen + Erik: Trend alert!
http://erikarenbonar.blogspot.com/2012/03/trend-alert.html
Joys of home ownership. Sunday, March 4, 2012. I've never been one to be "in" on the latest trend, but it appears I've unwittingly become so. When we painted our middle bedroom a vibrant orange. I wasn't thinking 'orange will be the next big THING! I was thinking how bold, playful and fun it was. Yet as I was reading through a magazine recently, Tangerine Tango is the 2012 color of the year. I'm in on a trend! And completely by accident! Let's just be sure 'the record' (whatever that. I have managed to p...

Joys of home ownership. Tuesday, March 9, 2010. So, my Bucket List is a holdover from my 101 in 1001. List And that's what the numbering is all about. (You can read about it HERE. But we'll see! 3 Learn how to speak rudimentary Italian. 4 Go on a vineyard tour in Italy. 5 Learn to juggle. 7 Adopt a child internationally. 40 Keep t...

Karen + Erik: Getting to know the little boy ...
http://erikarenbonar.blogspot.com/2012/05/getting-to-know-little-boy.html
Joys of home ownership. Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Getting to know the little boy . As we've been preparing for baby, it's involved sifting through lots of items we've just tossed into closets and forgotten about. Yesterday, I was going through some of the last items in our built-ins. I was pulling out all of Erik's baseball cards. Or didn't want the visual reminder? Anyhow, it seems sort of . cute. We don't know; it doesn't really matter. I'm sure I'll see some of his childhood come out in our own child.

Karen + Erik: Middle Bedroom project!
http://erikarenbonar.blogspot.com/2012/04/middle-bedroom-project.html
Joys of home ownership. Thursday, April 5, 2012. Erik's putting together this super shelving unit for the middle bedroom! The photo shows a pretty accurate color of what it is. :). The arrival of this shelf was a big deal. I ordered it from IKEA. Well, I didn't really order it b/c their shipping rates are staggering. But my brother picked it up for me in Chicago and carted it back here. Thanks to Paul! There will certainly be more on this later! Joys of home ownership. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Karen + Erik: Painting secret
http://erikarenbonar.blogspot.com/2012/04/painting-secret.html
Joys of home ownership. Monday, April 16, 2012. Erik and I have unanimously decided that painting trim is the worst.thing.ever. EVER. I did, however, learn a little tip/trick last summer while being an adult volunteer for Prayer and Action. Yes, that's a plastic tupperware-like container. And yes, that's a Ziploc bag. But what about the brush? Enter, Ziploc bag. Joys of home ownership. April 16, 2012 at 1:44 PM. But, thanks for the good tips :). April 17, 2012 at 10:51 PM. Heartland Photography Web Site.

Karen + Erik: Red Sauce
http://erikarenbonar.blogspot.com/2011/04/red-sauce.html
Joys of home ownership. Friday, April 1, 2011. Alrighty, per my friend, Mary's. Request, here's the "recipe" for the red sauce I made this week. Let me start by saying I wanted to make lasagna. OK, but most of the jarred sauce has added sugar. So I decided to make my own (honestly, the noodles are "probably" a no-no, but I need some variety on my plate, so I can deal with this). I'm a "toss it all into the pot" kind of cook, so here goes. 3 cans tomato paste. 2 Tbsp onion powder. 2 Tbsp garlic powder.
