The King's Corner: The Small Things
http://thekingscorneratctk.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-small-things.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. That seems to be the message in the Gospel today; counter-cultural to the message Think Big to be considered a success. Christ used the images of the mustard seed, and a little bit of yeast added to the dough, in talking about the Kingdom of God. Sometimes we just need to think small. Labels: Christ the King. The King's Corner: Persistence
http://thekingscorneratctk.blogspot.com/2015/08/persistence.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. The word for today is “persistence.” It’s the persistence of the Canaanite that ended up with her daughter being cured; she went back to the Lord again and again and again. Perhaps you and I can be persistent in our prayers – in the prayers we have. Perhaps for another; in this case in Matthew’s Gospel she is praying for her daughter. Maybe also for ourselves – that we be persistent in trying to change our behavior, our actions, or our habits. Labels: Christ the King Parish.

The King's Corner: Saint Martha
http://thekingscorneratctk.blogspot.com/2015/07/saint-martha.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Today we celebrate the Memorial of Saint Martha. I think that we can relate to Martha very well, and should strive to be more like her. Saint Martha is the patron saint of cooks – who knew? Lastly, Martha’s unwavering faith in the resurrection following her brother’s death is a reminder for all of us. Martha was human and was in our shoes when her brother Lazarus died – sharing our grief so to speak. We too have to believe in the resurrection and believ...Christ the King Parish.

The King's Corner: Trade Deadline
http://thekingscorneratctk.blogspot.com/2015/07/trade-deadline.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Today is the Major League Baseball trade deadline – the last time this season that teams can trade players. Teams around the league evaluate where they might need improvement. It can sometimes be a historic day; I remember where I was the day I found out that Nomar Garciaparra was traded to the Cubs on the trade deadline years ago! Oh, and maybe say an extra prayer for the Red Sox. They need it! Christ the King Parish. Please THINK before you write! Christ the King Parish. Today...

The King's Corner: We Walk By Faith
http://thekingscorneratctk.blogspot.com/2015/07/we-walk-by-faith.html
Saturday, July 18, 2015. We Walk By Faith. The other night at dinner, my family and I were reminiscing about years past. My mother was telling each of us stories from when we were very young – lots of laughs were shared! In less than a month, I will be moving back to Maine to begin RA Training and my junior. Year at Saint Joseph’s College. I just received my RA Contract and paperwork in the mail, meaning that another year is just around the corner. One of my favorite hymns is “We Walk By Faith....Click t...

The King's Corner: Talking to God
http://thekingscorneratctk.blogspot.com/2015/07/talking-to-god.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. As we continue reading from Exodus, we hear today that Moses would go into a tent and speak to God as one person would speak to another. It reminds me of what Anthony de Mello, a Jesuit from India, wrote once, talking about the empty chair method of praying. It worked for that person; de Mello said that’s not a bad way for all of us at times to pray. Not to some abstract concept, but imagine Jesus sitting with us and talking to Him, as one person would talk to another. Today’...
