Of course, once I was old enough to drive, cars became a more interesting proposition and despite a brief flirtation with mountain biking in my twenties, I had forgotten my love of the curious mode of transport known as the bicycle. The year has consisted in a lot of riding which I called training but frankly was just a good excuse to be out on my bike! A number of sportives were entered and completed, many hills were climbed and I worked on creating the best off-white cycling tan I’ve ever managed. On 13 November, I headed out with 11 like-minded strangers to undertake our challenge and it was AMAZING! And so its done…! 15,500 calories burned.
