a fortress from the 17:th century

Rohsska, swedish design. Elfsborg Fortress, by the harbour. This is a fortress built in the 17:th century to fight the Danes. The biggest challenge for this place where propably Tordenskjolds attack during 24-27 of june 1719. Where also used as prison like many other fortresses you'll see here in Sweden. A view from the south side. This was the place where Tordenskjold fired his canons on elfsborg. Click on the picture to see it in full size.

Rohsska, swedish design. This is the harbour on Asperö. In the background you see Brännö to the left and Rivö on the right side. The main houses. You ll find a small store with postoffice,. Some cafees and a pizza. Asperö is a small island not far from Gothenburg. You´ll get here by ferry from Saltholmen. You easy get here by the ferry from saltholmen. It is just a couple of minutes away. The nearest hotel is propably Styrsö skäret.

Rohsska, swedish design. A couple of pics from our harbour. A ship left Gothenburg sunday the 2:nd October 2005 for a journey to China. I managed to get some pictures from elfsborgsbron. Read more here: The east indiaman. Gothenburg is a replica of ships who where trading with chinese porcelain, spices, clothes and other things during 18:th and 19:th century. They started a travel to Shanghai in Oktober to see how they manage this boat on the atlantic sea, indian and pacifik ocean.
