Denny and Dunipace turned out that first season wearing the MacDonald of Clan Ranald tartan. In 1970 Pipe Major Sandy Jones of the Air Force Band took over the Denny band,. City of Washington Pipe Band. The band has two rehearsal locations depending on the weather. During the off season or fall and winter months the band rehearses on Sunday evenings at the Christ Episcopal Church in Kensington MD. During the season or spring and summer months the band rehearses on Sundays and the Thursday prior to a competition outside at the University of Maryland. Kensington, MD 20895. If you are interested in checking the band out at a rehearsal please contact the band prior to attending.
