I was on the prowl for something new and different and the folks over at Davino recommended this little gem from Oregon. This entry was posted in Food and Wine Pairing. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

I’m OK with drinking the “poor man’s” fancy French wine, and this is exactly what this wine is. When I say “poor man’s,” this wine still clocks in at $25-30, but it’s something you’re not likely to find anywhere else, 100% Marsanne. February 4, 2012. Madirans are not easy to come by; at least not here. I’d seek this one out. I believe it was about $26. If you’re here in Denver, you can pick it up at Bonnie Brae Wine and Liquor Mart. This entry was posted in Food and Wine Pairing.

A New Adventure | The Unctuous Wine Blog

The Unctuous Wine Blog. Just another WordPress.com site. When I evaluated what it was that made me happy, two things stood out teaching and food and wine. Given this discovery in a few short weeks, I’ll be moving back to Denver, taking several weeks of intensive wine classes and hopefully in the not-too-distant future, I’ll be teaching others about something I love so much. November 23, 2010 at 12:25 am. SO it is OUT! Can’t wait to have you back in CO! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

As much as I teach people that wine is meant to marry with food, sometimes the lesson is lost even on myself. If there is one region in the world that wines are meant to taste the best with food, it is Alsace. In my first few sips, without food, I was left wondering, is this really a wine that I can enjoy? If that name scares you, you can just call these bottles of liquid heaven TBAs. This entry was posted in German Wine. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

I’m not sure how easy or not it is to find this wine. They do carry it at The Vineyard in Cherry Creek. I’d pick up a bottle for yourself if you’re in the neighborhood. Definitely not a bad deal for an easy-drinking Thanksgiving wine for (if I recall correctly) under $20 per bottle. This entry was posted in Burgundy. Enter your comment here.
