Concrete Cats | Kerry'd Away
https://civilwarrose5.wordpress.com/2015/08/19/concrete-cats
2015 R/C Air Show. Book Review – “Lincoln In The World” →. August 19, 2015. Thus, when I saw this adorable cat I knew that I had to take him home. He was just too adorable! I still had a lot of paint left over from my dad’s calf. So I thought that I would take a shot at painting another concrete statue. This one reminded me of my Bobs, so I decided that I would paint him in a similar color scheme. What do you think? And it’s not like the birds haven’t had a warning…. Jay made me this sign. Joey’s c...

Advent Wreath Stand – Part 4. November 12, 2016. A week ago I was worried that we weren’t going to get the wreath stand done in time. Jay was working third shift so he wasn’t spending as much time in the basement. The arms and legs were all done, … Continue reading →. November 9, 2016. Advent Wreath Stand – Part 3. Newer posts →. An Advent Wreath Stand – Part 1. October 17, 2016. Isn’t that gorgeous? This is a stand from one of Brandon’s friend’s church. A woodworker there made this beautiful piece for them. Brandon wanted this to have a bit of a span, too, so that the wreath can easily be seen from every where in the church. So after a bit of discussion Jay drew up his rendition:. With the help of our dear friends, Dave and Patty, we fetched the pews and put them in the shed. We had thought about doing something w...

Summer Cross Update – 8-6-15. Concrete Cats →. 2015 R/C Air Show. August 11, 2015. Ask Jay… he can tell you…. This year Jay actually flew other guys’ planes more than he flew his own. He did three or four maidens. A few regular flights, and whatever other advice they might have needed from him. He is our club’s foremost authority on electric power systems and electric set-ups in general. A group of college students who are majoring in electronics, computer programming, robotics, and information systems&#...
Father’s Day Calf | Kerry'd Away

Dresses for Missions Update – 6-28-15 →. Father’s Day Calf. June 28, 2015. Last weekend was Father’s Day. My dad is somewhat hard to get anything for because he’s not into the typical “dad” stuff. When I run across something and I think that he will like it I typically pick it up because otherwise I may never find it again. This year I ran into that problem when I went to the local garden center. An idea came to mind, and after mulling it over for a week I decided to follow through with it. Growing up my...

Quotidian: Beautiful Bottle Crates
http://fullersquotidian.blogspot.com/2015/08/beautiful-bottle-crates.html
The stuff of daily life. Saturday, August 15. With our primary workspace upstairs in the kitchen, and our main storage space downstairs in the basement, we need to be able to move bottles efficiently – whether full or empty. For a while we were using old cardboard 12-pack boxes, wine boxes, or plastic filing crates. They worked, but weren’t great. When he re-emerged, my Prince was holding a custom-made, custom-sized crate for our shiny bottles! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). If You Get A Dumpster.
Quotidian: Planning for Fall
http://fullersquotidian.blogspot.com/2015/08/planning-for-fall.html
The stuff of daily life. Tuesday, August 18. Nearly everyone I’ve spoken to in the last couple weeks has said the same thing: where did the summer go? No matter what they’ve been occupied with, everyone agrees that time is going by much too quickly. Enjoy the holidays if I am not prepared for them… which is kind of terrible, considering many people I know and love consider Christmas their favorite time of year! Coffee Date with Your Calendar. Don't forget to include your favorites from this. Think Octobe...

Then, on the 11th this is what she looked like…. And now, as of today, she’s coming along a bit better than she has before. I’ve been doing some slow stitching lately but want to be able to get back into it. Keep those stitches whipping! 5 Responses to “My WIP”. June 28, 2013 at 7:52 PM. July 3, 2013 at 9:35 AM.
Quotidian: KonMarie Method
http://fullersquotidian.blogspot.com/2015/08/konmarie-method.html
The stuff of daily life. Monday, August 17. Marie Kondo’s book. On organizing has been all over the blogger realm in the last few month and getting lots of positive reviews, so I finally decided to check it out myself. It’s a pretty slim little volume, and a quick read, but for its modest size it certainly contained plenty to think about. Many also expressed horror towards the author’s approach to books.). Organizing by Category (Not Place). That made a tremendous amount of sense to me, and inspired me t...
Quotidian: What’s Working For Me This Summer

The stuff of daily life. Wednesday, August 12. What’s Working For Me This Summer. In the tradition of Works For Me Wednesdays. And What I’m Into. I thought I’d write quick post about things that have (in some cases surprisingly) worked for me this summer. Spring Cleaning…. In July (and August). I’m on my second month in, and I’m hooked. For $10 a month, KU is saving me oodles of time and money. (Bonus: I can write it off as a business expense! Glass “Tupperware”. What is working for you this summer?

The stuff of daily life. Wednesday, December 31. Help For Your New Years Resolutions. I have two awesome TED Talks to share today that might prove worth pondering for anyone formulating New Year's Resolutions. The other resource I can't neglect to mention - for people really committed to being successful - is the book The Power of Habit. The author does a great job of explaining why it's far more powerful to invest our energy in the slow, steady process of building good habits. Monday, December 29. Tuesd...

Our first TM this year was August 1st at a site we’ve done before and enjoyed, and we were delighted to get an early start time on the first day of the (two-day) event. The earlier you start, the fewer people there are on the course and the less waiting you’re likely to face at each obstacle. As an added bonus, the water is still dyed electric orange! Coming off an obstacle - covered in mud! If You Get A Dumpster. CALEN...

The stuff of daily life. Monday, February 23. Cocoa Toasted Cauliflower (Paleo/Whole 30 Approved). Photo from The Clothes Make the Girl (link at left). When I picked up Melissa Joulwan's Well Fed and Well Fed 2 cookbooks, I was a little skeptical of her recipe for roasting cauliflower with cocoa. Honestly, I haven't ever been much of a fan of cauliflower and have had a hard time wrapping my head around the apparent Paleo obsession with it. Get the recipe free online at her site The Clothes Make the Girl.
Quotidian: If You Get A Dumpster
http://fullersquotidian.blogspot.com/2015/08/if-you-get-dumpster.html
The stuff of daily life. Thursday, August 13. If You Get A Dumpster. Have you ever read the book If You Give A Mouse A Cookie? It’s a children’s book, and the basic storyline goes like this: If you give a mouse a cookie, he’ll want milk to go with it. That will lead to wanting another thing, and then another thing, and so on until you find yourself exhausted six hours later having given the crazy mouse everything but the kitchen sink. 8221; – because it seems to work very much the same way! We’ve k...
