SERVICES
http://www.clairepaisley.co.uk/about
My name is Claire Paisley, I am an illustrator and maker, living and working in St Leonards-on-sea. I started selling hand made textiles, while studying at Brighton college and exhibited my work with The Sussex Guild, as well as stocking several galleries and shops nationwide. Over the following eleven years I continued to make and draw, whilst bringing up my four children, though stopped showing my work on a regular basis.
boxes

In my recent work I have used simple house shapes and street scenes as a back drop for my decorations. Each house is coloured using watercolour, ink, oil pastel and pencil, then cut and folded into a free standing model. The houses stand alongside drifwood trees and printed paper flowers and figures. The whole scene is then housed in a sealed wooden box and topped with a reclaimed picture frame.

claire paisley: January 2015
http://clairepaisley.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, 23 January 2015. Just a few words. Its nine o'clock but I promised myself I would post every Friday, so here I am trying to think of something to write. The pub was very pretty too, all rough wood, slate grey paint and hanging hops, good service, comfy chairs, just should have sat a bit closer to the fire. Have started and deleted a few lines now, due to excessive waffling so I think it's time to sign off! Have a good week! Friday, 16 January 2015. Bring on the hot milk and chocolate cake. A litt...

Saturday, 18 April 2015. Got to love Hastings in the sunshine! Friday, 17 April 2015. Some photos to illustrate my point:. I rehoused and slightly altered this one. Started, then abandoned this one. And am waiting to continue with this one. All in all I think I prefer the stones the children and I painted on the beach! Friday, 3 April 2015. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. http://clairepaisley.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, 21 June 2015. I am indulging in a Sunday morning alone, the house feels very quiet and still. I won't spend to long on this, as I have only an hour left. Here is my most recent finished piece. Oil Pastel, watercolour, ink stamps, card and paper. I am still bursting with ideas, but will not start anything today. Friday, 12 June 2015. I'm not feeling very wordy this evening, so here's a few pictures of this week's boxes. Reading on the doorstep. An idea of scale (quite small). Friday, 5 June 2015.

claire paisley: long time
http://clairepaisley.blogspot.com/2015/07/long-time-no-post-summer-always-gets.html
Wednesday, 8 July 2015. Long time no post! Summer always gets busy, what with sports days and parents evenings and summer shows and tennis lessons and football matches and making the most of the weather by going to the beach and having picnics. Add in some new school induction days (No. 1 son getting the bus all by himself.weep weep) and a weekend camping, all means theres been little time for blogging! Anyway a quick catch up and a few photos. Cooking lots of pasta and pancakes (photo to follow).

claire paisley: March 2015
http://clairepaisley.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 March 2015. Also I have finished repairing the sole of one of my slippers, worn through due to excessive wear. I'm off to make a start on the other one as I currently have a very warm left foot, while the right is a bit chilly. It's making me feel a bit wonky. Friday, 20 March 2015. What can I say. So it's Friday and I'm trying to think what I have done this week, as I can't find anything to photograph! Purple and yellow stripes. Cooling sponge from my new cake tins. Friday, 13 March 2015.
claire paisley: last term
http://clairepaisley.blogspot.com/2015/06/another-school-holiday-passed-in-blur.html
Monday, 1 June 2015. But also of course aware that not that much will change really. Once we get into the swing of Freddie making his own way, Eli and Reuben continuing on their happy steady paths and Cherry not with me a couple more days a week, it will all feel very normal and my time will be as full as it is now, I have no doubt. Anyway, a little re cap then off to do some work. The box project continues. And theres one more nearly finished, although I keep changing my mind on how.

Monday, 19 April 2010. Nominations have now closed for the local elections. I have been formally nominated to stand in Bow East, where I live, to stand to represent Bow East residents on the Council. I am standing with my co-candidates, Mark Walters and Phil Groves. There are 19 candidates standing in Bow East this time: 3 candidates from Conservatives, Labour, Lib Dems, Green, Respect, as well as 3 independent candidates. Sadly there is also a BNP candidate standing. Roll on 6th May. Zakir is going all ...
