Full and Empty Dam. These Pics are all at either 100% or 7.5% capacity. The first view of the dam you get when coming from Cape Town side. Dam in Flood September 1986. Long walk from the river up to the public slipway. Shots from the campsite at what is nothing more than the Olifants river! Same picture - note the tree on the left has not grown much! About The Town

The town is situated about 240 kms from Cape Town, on the banks of the Olifants River and foot of the Cederberg mountains. The Cederberg takes it's name from the Clanwilliam Cedar that grows there. - and is now highly threatend. The name is an amalgamation of the english Ced a. Rberg and dutch Sed e. In Ireland. Doesn't make much sense to me since the guy had already been dead for 14 years by then. Remember in those days Titles didn't mean Jack! Cradock got his own title before he died - Baron Howdon.

Set a date for my test - mid December. I heard from someone else, they had a quick practical - how to control the boat, man overboard scenario (like every time you pick up the skier) kind of thing. Welcome to our Clanwilliam Dam Web site! This site is dedicated to a group of us who go up to Clanwilliam Dam for a holiday once a year (Newyear). For some dumb reason we keep going back, year after year. We come from all over the world to meet up for this 1 week holiday, and this has been going on for about 15 years now!
