Introducing My New Favorite Bar Cookies: Louise Cake and Lemon Almond Bars. March 2, 2015. Louise Cake: Coconutty meringue on top of raspberry jam on top of a lemony shortbread base. I love trying out new recipes, sometimes they’re great and sometimes they’re not. At the baby shower. I just threw I discovered a couple of new favorites. My new favorite lemon bar I discovered in Sunset Magazine. Adapted from Sunset Magazine (February 2014). 2 3/4 cups (divided). 2 T plus 1 t. (divided). 3 1/4 cups (divided).

Enough for a good start. January 5, 2015. An assignment took me out to the peninsula a few days ago. I drove up early in the morning all along the bay up 101. In a blurry photo I snapped through the passenger window, the water, the hills, and the sky form a backdrop, bare trees the foreground. (I always wish I knew the trees better. Are these alders? I’ve driven north this way on several occasions but never stopped at Hama Hama Seafood. Her mushroom strata waits in the refrigerator for us to bake tonight...
