My apologies to all of you - I simply haven't had time to blog this summer. I started teaching anesthesia this summer, and since I have only been out of school for a year I spend a great deal of time making absolutely sure that I am not giving out erroneous information! Clay Hill Farm: November 2009

http://clayhillfarm.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 25, 2009. I can't believe I thought I'd be able to pull together a giveaway and a major family dinner the week my son got home from training. Sorry, everyone - I have the fabric cut but haven't managed to find more than a few minutes at a time for any actual sewing. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I found this on an online forum:. He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional. If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are h...

Clay Hill Farm: Potatoes in a Barrel

http://clayhillfarm.blogspot.com/2010/04/potatoes-in-barrel.html

Saturday, April 10, 2010. Potatoes in a Barrel. We planted our potatoes last week here at Clay Hill Farm. I don't grow potatoes in the ground, though - I grow them in barrels. It's really easy, and the yields are very good. You can grow up to forty pounds of potatoes in each barrel, depending upon the size of the barrel. Potato plants are actually attractive, and they look good in containers. Only these containers can help cut your grocery bill this fall, and growing your own potatoes is fun! When the po...

Clay Hill Farm: Chicks for Hannah

http://clayhillfarm.blogspot.com/2010/04/chicks-for-hannah.html

Tuesday, April 20, 2010. I made a special field trip this week, along with a couple of our resident chicks, to see Hannah. We had a nice visit, as you can see here. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos - we used my cell phone camera to take them! Hannah lacks fine motor skills, but she was definitely interested in these babies! She just needed a little help to fine-tune her snuggles! And, yes, everyone involved made sure their hands were clean after we played with the baby chicks! The family suffer...

Clay Hill Farm: Punjammies

http://clayhillfarm.blogspot.com/2010/03/punjammies.html

Sunday, March 21, 2010. Okay, I know I'm supposed to be making/recycling all of my clothes. But I might have to make an exception for these beauties: Punjammies. The story behind them is amazing and it's definitely a cause I could support. So, what say you, friends? Would I be cheating if I bought a pair of those lovely PJ's? Luckily for me, they've had lots of good press lately (much of it from Pioneer Woman. Well, you havent actually started with your new project yet, have you? March 21, 2010 at 9:00 PM.

A Little of this, a little of that: Thank You

http://flydragon-alittleofthisalittleofthat.blogspot.com/2009/12/thank-you.html

A Little of this, a little of that. Sunday, December 20, 2009. I just wanted to let you all know that we told Mom about your comments here and at my blog, and she did receive and read your cards. (Have you all seen Jen's cards at http:/ www.muddybootdreams.com/ - wow! While Mom would not allow for services to be held for her, I don't believe she would mind at all that her blog become a memorial of sorts to her wit, wisdom, and mad skills. Far Side of Fifty. Hugs from Minnesota to all of you:). Thank you ...

A Little of this, a little of that. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Still Hanging In There. A few surprises hanging in here in the middle of August. The first is this Verbena. Usually by this time of year all my Verbenas are in the trash heap. Loaded with powdery mildew and totally wilted. But. looking good. How about this Lantana. Still full and healthy. How about these window boxes. Still going like gangbusters. And last. how about the view from my favorite sitting place. Oh, and one more thing.

A Little of this, a little of that. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. In Like A Lion, Out Like A Lamb". I know that little saying is usually used for the month of March, but I figured it should be good for other times as well. So this time I’m applying it for the whole year of 2008. So what the heck happened? Where’s the mild temperatures, the sun, the peaceful end to the old year? I’ll tell you what happened! And so ends 2008. In like a lion, out like a lion. Maybe we should change that original saying just...

http://flydragon-alittleofthisalittleofthat.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

A Little of this, a little of that. Saturday, January 31, 2009. No not that spring, and from the looks of it that won’t be happening for quite some time yet. Yes that’s my super duper snow gauge aka yardstick stuck in there. There was a time when stores appreciated your business and would give away handy dandy freebies like that. Those days are long gone, at least around here. And that ancient snow gauge shows that there is 18” of snow in my backyard. Arrrgh! Monday, January 26, 2009. Older, a lot? And i...

Pilgrims and Pioneers: Home Canning- Preserving My Heritage

http://pilgrimsandpioneers.blogspot.com/2013/09/home-canning-preserving-my-heritage.html

Welcome To Pilgrims and Pioneers! After many years of researching my family geneaology I have been lucky enough to discover actual information about my relatives that lived in the Pilgrim Era and the Pioneer Era- while many people also have realtives from those eras- many do not know their names or where they lived- actually seeing the proof in print makes you much more aware of who they really were. I decided to start this blog for others who are also interested in these eras. Sunday, September 15, 2013.

http://flydragon-alittleofthisalittleofthat.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

A Little of this, a little of that. Sunday, April 26, 2009. So my sister Betty calls me Saturday morning. It went something like this. Betty Boop…"Hey, whatcha doing? Me…. "Nothing much, how about you? Baiting Boop…."I’m just calling to see if you put your hummingbird feeder up yet? Drat, I know exactly where this is going). Me… "No not yet, why? Feigning ignorance while swearing a blue streak under my breath). While we’re on the subject of show-offs and braggarts, here’s another one. No, not this one.

A Little of this, a little of that. Saturday, November 14, 2009. I know this doesn’t sound like it would be a title of one of my posts. I’m usually posting something a bit more witty, well I try to anyway, with a slightly? Morbid sense of humor, (fortunately my family has the same sense of humor), up beat, making each other laugh, and generally having a good time, trying to out do each other. Well, this post doesn’t seem to be working that way this time. All that being said, my hats, ( which are plentifu...

A Little of this, a little of that. Sunday, November 30, 2008. Now this one that is only 2 years old is broken, dead, kaput. What the heck? Only 2 years old! No easy fix here this time…… I take that back. I might not be able to fix that one, but I still have this one that I never got rid of which I will now hook up by my computer desk. What dodo came up with that idea? I will now use this one upstairs since I don’t plan on calling any businesses from my bed. By the way, do good things come in threes, too?
