Town Mouse in the Country: December 2010
http://countrymouseem.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 12, 2010. Good things come to those who wait. Photo by Emily Stevens. I'm really disappointed. I had been sort of planning a little elopement getaway to New Orleans with Cade, but I've had to put the brakes on that indefinitely. The reason isn't cold feet, or money problems, or any of those usual reasons to postpone a wedding. It's because of stupid health insurance. I need. Thursday, December 9, 2010. Clear Crick Cottage Jewelry. This picture is of the bracelet she made for me:. She has...

Lovely Fever: Decoupage Candles: Bloom, Bliss, Dream
http://lovelyfever.blogspot.com/2012/05/decoupage-candles-bloom-bliss-dream.html
Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Decoupage Candles: Bloom, Bliss, Dream. My Memorial Day morning was blissfully spent in my makeshift art studio- a spare bedroom in our duplex that houses boxes of vintage ephemera, paint, ribbons, papers and other supplies. I wanted to incorporate one of my latest vintage ephemera finds into my decoupage candle holders. I had found a 1945 paperback edition of the French classic Les Dieux Ont Soif. On Etsy, and was very inspired by their romantic designs. After cutting and sizing...

Sunday, August 19, 2012. Artist Inspirations: The Oregon Coast. I want to record and share the people, places and things that inspire me, to keep my own creative fire burning. Here is one of my all time favorite places:. I loved this wood footbridge. So picturesque and peaceful. I could sit here with a book of poems and my journal all afternoon. We visited the aquarium in Newport and I was struck my the surreal beauty of jellyfishes. I loved the way their opalescent bodies illuminate in the deep blue...

Lovely Fever: April 2012
http://lovelyfever.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 28, 2012. In Circles of Hypnosis. The lake creases like lovers' sheets,. Whose eddies of slumber shape new geographies. A million fingerprints of secret beings. Surface, sweep under, in circles of hypnosis. The sun labors its glare; the sky exhales,. Waves flow shore-bound in a slow waltz. She is a songstress in a silver-sequined dress,. A city aglow with lights at dusk. Over ripples, sparks skip, and swing. An unsought music is magnified:. The breeze licking the leaves,. To the June sun.

Lovely Fever: December 2011

Friday, December 23, 2011. Here are a few examples of my collage art! Links to this post. The Secrets of Roses and Embryos. We, who know so much, yet so little,. And thrive on our impulse to ask why,. Who investigate the shadows of outer space. And tread the dimensions of oceans. Who engineer and persevere. Yet squander and murder. Yet immense organs of love. Yet cinder earthly hells. Who mend the damaged. Yet chisel shell-shocked souls. Who design rituals, murals and euphony,. Despite what we know,.

Lovely Fever: June 2010

Tuesday, June 29, 2010. One Way to Save on Vintage Ephemera. I adore sifting through thrift store bins and flea market stands for lovely paper remnants from the past. How thrilling it is to find a 1940's women's magazine stockpiled with fashion sketches, skin cream ads and glimpses of Old Hollywood glamour. Having a computer file full of scanned and re-purposed vintage ephemera can help when money is scarce. And some pictures are just too beautiful to only use once! Links to this post. Recently, I read.

Lovely Fever: May 2010
http://lovelyfever.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 31, 2010. The Creative Life: Forging My Own Path. I remember myself as a highly sensitive adolescent full of romanticism and hope for a future dedicated to art. Literature was my first true love. I would take the bus from the suburbs to Capitol Hill in Seattle to go to Twice Sold Tales in search of used paperback books by Anais Nin, Tennessee Williams, Herman Hesse and John Steinbeck. After- school afternoons were spent beneath maple trees reading and writing poetry. Links to this post. Yinka...
