Wednesday, September 19, 2012. 24th of July Hike. Okay, so I'm back! I've taken a break from my blog in all the craziness of moving, but I'm going to try to post a little more regularly now. I'll start with some highlights from summer:. On the 24th of July we took a small hike in Pleasant Grove. It was a great day and we had a lot of fun. Grandma and Grandpa Wily joined us. Saturday, November 19, 2011. For Halloween this year, Jacob was Harry Potter. His Grandma Arnold made him this fabulous costume. It is reversible too! Bethany's princess costume required preparation the night before. We carved our pumpkin the night before. Kyle and Bethany posed for pictures before trick or treating. Monday, January 16, 2012. While we were visiting over Christmas, my Mom celebrated her 60th birthday. She is one amazing lady and is the most active 60 year old I know. I hope to be like her someday (actually I wish I were like her right now! For her birthday, she wanted to run to McDonald's then have breakfast there. We call it the "Bill Clinton Diet.". Saturday, April 23, 2011. Our first stop on our Pennsylvania trip was to Gettysburg. We did the driving tour and got out at several stops to see the important landmarks. We climbed a big lookout here to see the battlefield. This is a monument that was built to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the battle at Gettysburg. All the surviving veterans from both sides were invited to attend (the government even paid for their travel expenses! One of many cannons we saw. A visit with "Honest Abe".

Saturday, June 11, 2011. Today at the LEGO store, Kyle worked intently on building something the whole time we were in there. When I went over to see his work, I had to laugh- I love that kid! Today we visited Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. They have a small nature center and planetarium. The boys had a great time exploring the park and nature center. And they loved the planetarium show. Jacob got to experience being a beekeper (at least wearing the gear). Bethany dressed up as a butterfly.
