Japan is a weird and wonderful place - now you can all see it through my eyes! Tuesday, May 09, 2006. I've been putting off updating this blog since I am now back to my 'normal' life and it means that my days of traveling have come to an end. Somehow daily or even weekly updates about the goings-on in my life seem rather mundane. However, one adventure only leads to another - so perhaps it is not the 'end' but only a new beginning. To follow updates on the trip check out:. But now with just over a month ...

Japan is a weird and wonderful place - now you can all see it through my eyes! Saturday, January 14, 2006. Kill the Malaysia Prime Minister. Sorry for the gratuitous Zoolander reference. So I've been in Malaysia for the past week or so - it's been great. Here are some of the highlights. I hope the pics look better than they do on this computer. they look fine on my camera but they look really dark loaded here. Went and checked out the petrona towers (2nd tallest in the world i think). ON the bus/boat rid...

Japan is a weird and wonderful place - now you can all see it through my eyes! Thursday, December 22, 2005. So you wanted more self portraits Brock? Here's one from this morning in our freak snowstorm. Apparently this is pretty rare around here, and it was just in time for Christmas! You can't tell from these pictures, but the wind was firing these snowflakes into our eyes at about 80 km an hour so it was a little painful! We were walking Linda to the bus station to catch a bus to the airport. My results...

Asian Adventures: November 2005

Japan is a weird and wonderful place - now you can all see it through my eyes! Tuesday, November 29, 2005. I had never been on a bullet train before and I had every intention of staying awake to enjoy the scenery fly by at 300 km/hr. That attempt failed in about 15 minutes. I fully passed out and arrived at Hiroshima Station with only a vague recollection of the train ever moving. Linda and I just had to pose in front of it. I don't think this thing has even touched rice though, it would take about 3...

Asian Adventures: October 2005

Japan is a weird and wonderful place - now you can all see it through my eyes! Friday, October 28, 2005. Just when I didn't think it could happen, it did. Yup, I know it's hard to believe but it's true. I had thought maybe it was happening. my clothes felt a little looser, I had to buckle my belt another notch tighter and then this 90lb. Japanese woman told me I was thin. But I still was skeptical. I thought maybe it's just in my head. I mean how accurate is our perception of ourselves? I find I pause ri...

Asian Adventures: February 2006
http://cjcunnin.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Japan is a weird and wonderful place - now you can all see it through my eyes! Friday, February 17, 2006. My trip to Cambodia was pretty interesting. The road from Thailand, though significantly improved in the past couple years - is still an adventure in and of itself. It's only a flat, 150 kilometers but it takes over 4 hours. In the past it could take up to 8-10 hours so I guess I should have been happy. But the ride was bumpy, dusty and ridiculously cramped. And a parting sunset shot from the top of ...
