May 2015 – What a Journey! And, for now, it ends! May 3, 2015. Well….a lot has happened the last several days! The upshot is that the medical advice for me is:. 1 Don’t hike when it’s hot, and. 2 Wear loose clothing that allows sweat to evaporate and cool the body. 3 Don’t over exert yourself. 4 Keep skin clean so sweat glands don’t get covered over…. May 31st – The Journey Continues! July 23, 2015. There has certainly been a whirlwind of events in May 2015! Suffice it to say that I wish I had the time and connection to detail all of them for you now…but I don’t. So, you get the bulleted version…. 1 I recovered from heat rash while at home in Oregon. 2 I was still feeling bad, had what I thought was an infected tooth…Doc says it’s a sinus infection…went on 10 days of antibiotics (no wonder I was feeling so bad! 3 Decided I could get back on trail.

April 28th – 29th Kennedy Meadows to Lone Pine. May 1, 2015. On April 29th, I returned to Kennedy Meadows to head North on the way to Horseshoe Meadows. I woke up at the campground staging area that morning and immediately sensed something was amiss….it wasn’t even cool first thing in the morning….that didn’t bode well for the day.
